"In prAIse of Skepticism" is ostensibly "for technologists" & "about AI". But really, it is for everyone - especially folks that "believe nothing". Trust is blind; based on faith. Sometimes that is enough. But sometimes, evidence-based knowledge is wiser. ineffable-solutions.com/in-p…

This week, I've been tricked into taking on new responsibilities 😲 The scoundrels! I've written it up as a blog post where you can read about: - What triggered the trap - Why the trap isn't really a trap - How other Testers and QEs deliberately spring similar traps - What I'm going to learn about while I'm in this trap

Ada was tested at @uni_mainz, demonstrating diagnostic accuracy on par with professional psychologists (Kappa=0.78). Delivering quick and efficient assessments in just a few minutes, we're redefining the future of mental health care.

A recent study shows Ada’s AI surpasses ChatGPT-4 and rheumatologists in diagnostic accuracy for rheumatology, especially in identifying the correct top diagnosis. AI paired with clinical expertise is the future of healthcare.

No amount of testing will guarantee perfection in a program. The real problem here is that Microsoft effectively allowed CrowdStrike to hack into the core of their operating system in the name of security. Maybe, they should pay less attention to AI nonsense and more attention to making their own operating system secure without giving it over to a third-party.

Lots of people speculating that this was due to a lack of testing. Philosophically true: in theory, *even more* testing can find all possible defects. But we can assume they *did* test. Si probsbly something subtle went wrong.

Around 8.5% of all assessments on Ada are related to sexual health. Our AI-powered technology is transforming access to sexual health information and the path to diagnosis. In case you missed it, we were mentioned in @MsMagazine's 'Keeping Score' section: msmagazine.com/2024/06/06/ke…

I get tired on the AI hype. Hopefully we soon get into a time where people really start to understand that Large Language Models (LLM) of this GenAI era are just clever token auto-completers and do NOT understand anything, even if their answers are always looking convincing.

I never said that some people will not be more expert than others in some skill area. Pay equity is another issue entirely. Pay should be commensurate with the value you bring to the org. Sometimes a great tester brings way more value than an engineer. Not paying them accordingly is exploitation.
