The Ebola outbreak in DRC and Uganda is a warning that the world remains stuck in a cycle of “panic and neglect.” 🌍 Global health leaders are calling for urgent action on the Pandemic Agreement, preparedness financing, One Health systems and the 100 Days Mission. But the @AfricaCDC says the response is already being constrained by insecurity, weak facilities, shortages, uneven contact tracing and community mistrust. Preparedness cannot wait until the next emergency. ⚠️ 📰➡️healthpolicy-watch.news/as-e… ✍️@kerrycullinan11 @TheGPMB @GPHC_Panel @TheIndPanel @WHO @UN @ifrc @DeutscheWelle @EU_Commission @hadjalahbib @UNAIDS

At a time when humanity can sequence pathogens in hours, develop vaccines in months, and deploy AI across entire economies, the world already has many of the tools it needs for pandemic preparedness & response. The question is whether leaders will choose to invest in and use them. #PandemicAgreement politico.eu/article/ebola-ha…

Frontline nurses in DRC and Uganda are facing dangerous PPE shortages as the Ebola outbreak grows. Many are scared for their safety because they lack even the most basic protective equipment. ICN CEO @HowardCatton warns the world is once again failing the people who protect us. Nurses are delivering extraordinary, lifesaving care, but too often without the masks, face shields and testing kits they need: “If we fail to protect the nurses risking their lives, we fail everyone.” Nurses need immediate access to PPE and support now. 🔗 Read the Nursing in Practice full article here: bit.ly/3PICCKq
