“So hate is cool now.” @JakeWSimons This is what antisemitism as “the worlds most reliable early warning sign of a major threat to freedom, humanity, and the dignity of difference” (in the words of the late @rabbisacks) looks like. Normalized by the mechanism that enables its mutation over millennia - demonization, delegitimization, double standards - this lethal hate hijacks, inverts, redefines, weaponizes facts & law, ultimately collapsing morality & the covenant that holds societies together.
So hate is cool now. They’re not even hiding it any more.

This week, ILF submitted recommendations to Australia's Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion, created in the aftermath of the Bondi Beach massacre. An ancient, ever-mutating hate, antisemitism today manifests in indirect, coded, and digitally amplified forms. Effective responses require clarity, consistency, and comprehensive identification of antisemitism in all its forms. That requires use of the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, that resulted from a long democratic process, because you cannot combat what you cannot identify, and you cannot identify what you do not define. “Does Parliament not understand that singling out the world's only Jewish state, holding its standards not applied to anywhere else…falsely accusing Israel of committing these terrible crimes. This is bound to drive hostility towards people who are identified with Israel, which is the vast majority of the Jewish community, and I have to say this is why I believe Parliament is playing a large role in driving the explosion of antisemitism that we've seen on the streets of Britain.” @LordIanAustin Never Again - is now.
“I’ve always wondered why we did nothing about Hitler…but by midday on the 7th of October, I knew exactly why…” Poignant words from @EricPickles @CFoI. To do something - critical to identify & combat ALL strains of ever-mutating Jew hatred, w/@TheIHRA def of antisemitism. #NeverAgainIsNow

Antisemitism is an ancient viral hate - that mutates & creates ‘modern’ strains by latching onto the guiding social construct of each time. Watch our CEO @CotlerWunsh at @thinchague's “Challenges to International Law in the Grey Zone" conference last month.

The Islamic republic of Iran, & its genocidal terror proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis…that use humans as shields/sacrifices/currency, for whom human TRAGEDY is the STRATEGY - CANNOT be ‘integrated into the region’. THAT is the paradigm that COLLAPSED on October 7. My interview with @benitalevin on @i24NEWS_EN

The law is being utilized for systematic demonization, delegitimization, and double standards. This crumbling of the rules based international order began with the 1975 UN Zionism is Racism resolution. Watch our CEO @CotlerWunsh last month at the @canstrongfree in Ottawa ⬇️

While Prime Minister @MarkJCarney may have hit some of the right notes in Monday's speech, he ultimately failed to deliver where Canadians needed leadership most - to name and shame those fueling and peddling antisemitism in Canada’s streets. Prime Minister @MarkJCarney’s speech yesterday addressing the “scourge of antisemitism” plaguing Canada included many pertinent points. The problem is that it largely avoided fundamental issues: why antisemitism has surged, how it has mutated, who is fueling it, and what concrete actions will be taken to confront it. The Prime Minister stood in one of Canada’s largest synagogues and admitted that “Canada’s civic compact is failing Jewish Canadians” and that “if that covenant fails for one of our communities, it fails us all.” He highlighted the important role that the @TheIHRA definition plays in identifying and addressing antisemitism - for if you can’t define it, you can’t combat it. While the Prime Minister may have hit some of the right notes, he ultimately failed to deliver where Canadians needed leadership most - to name and shame those fuelling and peddling antisemitism in Canada’s streets. There is no need for a Council to investigate this - five years of overt antisemitism, with the past two and a half featuring incessant hate rallies, shootings, and violence targeting Canada’s Jewish community and anyone who supports the Jewish nation state has made the perpetrators of anti-Jewish hatred known to all who wish see. Not once did the Prime Minister mention liberal values that have been hijacked, redefined, inverted, and weaponized to normalize ever-mutating lethal antisemitism. Not once did he refer to Islamic extremism and its role in the antisemitism crisis across Canada. He failed to mention the progressives who boast about diversity, equity, and inclusion yet keep Jews out of their spaces. He touted his own policies and praised police, instead of calling for the most basic laws to be upheld, and for perpetrators of crimes to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And he did not commit to utilizing his own government’s IHRA Handbook. He failed to look inwards, and consider the role his own government is playing in funding organizations guilty of peddling antisemitism, including terror-affiliated entities. While talking about “not importing foreign conflicts,” he failed to recognize the affect his government’s obsessive anti-Israel policies have on the Jewish community in Canada - from claiming Israel has a right to self defense even while cutting export permits for military equipment, to rewarding Palestinian leadership with recognition of a state in the wake of the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust without requiring any reform. Significant and troubling concerns have already emerged regarding the identities and backgrounds of several named members of the Council - one of the Prime Minister's flagship proposals. Most poignantly, while standing in a synagogue speaking about the 3,000 year old history of the Jewish people, he failed to mention the Jewish people’s millennia-old connection to the land of Israel, effectively attempting to erase Israel from Canadian Jewish identity. By missing these points, the PM’s statement will serve to continue the normalization of antisemitism. As Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks z”l warned: “Antisemitism is a virus that mutates so that new antisemites can deny that they’re antisemites at all because their hate is different from the old. In the Middle Ages, Jews were hated for their religion. In the nineteenth and early twentieth century they were hated for their race. Today they are hated for their nation state, Israel. What all three have in common is that they are different ways of saying that Jews have no right to exist collectively as Jews with the same rights of other human beings… Anti-Zionism, denying Jews the right to their one and only collective home by misrepresenting Judaism, is the new antisemitism.”

Following extensive criticism of Nicholas Kristof's May 11 New York Times column – and the way the paper and the author have doubled-down on the most controversial points – members of NGO Monitor's International Advisory Board have called for an independent investigation into the article's sourcing, fact-checking, and methodology. The letter reflects growing international concern over the use of Hamas-linked sources and unanswered questions regarding the verification of serious allegations. @MichaelDanbyMP @CotlerWunsh @The_ILF @AlexanderDowner @COLRICHARDKEMP @VivianBercovici @LindaFrum @yudapearl @natan_sharansky @Bonnie_Glick @DavidHarrisNY

SCOOP: I've discovered that Euro-Med Monitor has actually been formally designated as a terrorist organization by Israel — since 2015. And nobody realized. Not journalists. Not myself. Not even the Israeli Diaspora Ministry, which published a detailed report on Euro-Med just last week following the Nicholas Kristof NYT op-ed. So what happened? Israel designated the organization under its old name, "EUROMID OBSERVER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS." The group rebranded circa 2015 as "Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor," and the old spelling made the designation invisible to any obvious sanctions search. It sat buried in the government's official list for ten years, completely undetected. The Swiss commercial registry makes the link unambiguous. Same organization. New name. Still designated. The original designation, issued by then-Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, declared Euro-Med an "unauthorized association" under Israel's 1945 Defense (Emergency) Regulations. Under Section 101 of Israel's 2016 Counter-Terrorism Law, that designation was automatically converted into a permanent terrorist designation, with no additional process required. A terror front. Rebranded. Undetected for a decade.

.@Spotify's policies prohibit content that promotes hate, incites violence, or targets individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, including religion and ethnicity. Yet, the company continues to host a violent & antisemitic song that includes lyrics like "It's time to load this chamber, And aim at the head of the monster now." This is dangerous, not just for the Jewish community, but for everyone. Read @StarrJpost in @Jerusalem_Post for more: jpost.com/diaspora/antisemit…

🕯️A year ago today, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim were murdered in cold blood outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. They had just left an AJC event for young Jewish professionals and diplomats. The diplomatic world should have shaken to its core. It stayed silent. Their murderer traveled from Chicago to DC, methodically researching Jewish networking events. Wearing a keffiyeh, he declared: “I did it for Palestine. I did it for Gaza.” Yaron and Sarah were targeted because of their identity. “Palestine” was the pretext for cold-blooded murder, fueled by ever-mutating lethal antisemitism that has been normalized after decades of systematic hijacking, redefinition, inversion, weaponization - of facts, law, & morality. May their memory forever be for a blessing. 📷AFP via Getty Images

.@Spotify claims to ban content that incites hatred based on religion or race - yet it continues to host Chris Webby’s overtly antisemitic and violent track “Raw Thoughts VII.” This isn’t harmless online chatter. Online antisemitism spills from the internet into campuses and streets, fueling real-world violence. Selective enforcement renders platform rules meaningless - protecting no one. This isn’t just dangerous for Jews. It’s dangerous for everyone. More by @StarrJpost in @Jerusalem_Post: jpost.com/diaspora/antisemit…

May marks Jewish Heritage Month in both the US and Canada. In this atmosphere of mainstreaming and normalization of antisemitism, Jewish Heritage Month is an opportunity to take tangible action: 1. Utilize @TheIHRA definition of antisemitism. 2. Recognize Jewish contributions to society. 3. Protect Jewish communities & enforce the law. 4. Tell the Jewish story. 5. Celebrate the Jewish people’s connection to Israel 🇮🇱 Happy Jewish Heritage Month! 🇺🇸🇨🇦🎉

IHH Gaza-bound 50 vessel flotilla is not Sumud, resilience. IHH is a designated terror organization. It does not provide ‘humanitarian aid’. It provides support for Hamas, also a designated terror organization, for whom human tragedy, especially in Gaza - is the strategy. This terror-orchestrated publicity stunt is compounded by the fact that the Gaza Strip is flooded with millions of tons of aid. It is also a breach of a lawful naval blockade on Gaza, that all entrusted to uphold & protect international law must condemn & oppose…including NATO member Turkey.
