When they don’t like his White House renovations they cry “look what he’s doing to the people’s house!” But when he brings the people’s sports —like UFC and motocross — to the White House, they call it “degrading” and sniff: “I remember we when we had presidents who brought great poets and choreographers and composers. The elite contempt for Trump’s only exceeded by their contempt for regular Americans.
David Brooks reacts to the upcoming UFC fight at the White House, "I first thought of, like, who are the artists John F. Kennedy brought to the White House? It was like W.H. Auden, Robert Frost, Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein. And now we have got cage fighting. Don't anybody say America's in cultural decline."
Jonathan Capehart adds "talk about degrading the culture. This is degrading the White House, degrading the people's house. And it's just unconscionable that this has happened."
