Identifying the drug (LGK974) as a much-needed potential sclerosteosis treatment is a significant step forward for patients with this #raredisease.
💊 What We Found: A drug called LGK974 reduced skull and ear bone mass of young mice with #sclerosteosis, indicating that it effectively limits skeletal overgrowth at sites with severe/fatal pathology.
📋 Importance: LGK974 therapy would likely be an option for early disease treatment in children, potentially avoiding risky surgical treatments and providing massive relief to these patients and their families.
