Yesterday, a leak dropped on social media that listed 113 people belonging to Peter Thiel's ultra-secretive and highly selective society — Dialog.
A club for the wealthy and elite, akin to the Bilderberg Group.
Two British names appear in the list, one is an MP.
Little is known about the club, but I wrote an article about Thiel and Palantir in January [link below], if you'd like to know more background about him.
This leak purports to list members of the secret society and speakers scheduled to speak at an upcoming event in Dublin, in August.
As you'd expect, it's primarily US tech magnates, oil chiefs and Ai representatives, but it also contains some very prominent American politicians: Ted Cruz, Scott Bessent [Secretary to the Treasury], Cory Brooker [NJ senator] and Jared Kushner.
Some very unexpected names, however, are Tom Tugendhat MP and Matt Clifford, our government's previous AI Opportunities Adviser and the Chair of the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA).
Tugendhat has a background in the intelligence services and previously served in the Cabinet as Security Minister.
It's unclear to me why he would be part of this secret society, so perhaps a comment from
@TomTugendhat might clear things up?
The other name is not so well known but served under multiple Prime Ministers on our national Ai strategy. He stepped down in January of this year for 'personal reasons'.
As a Venture Capitalist, you wouldn't bat an eyelid over his inclusion on this list, but as a government Ai adviser, it certainly raises an eyebrow.
I will do some further reading around this subject and report back, but it definitely seems odd that a sitting MP in our Parliament is involved in this über-secretive society under one of the world's most dangerous characters.
