The Translational Psychedelics Research Program brings together scientists and providers to understand how psychedelics impact the brain and other organ systems
Great read @thebandlab! It is a remarkable time for the future of psychedelic medicines and we are proud to be part of the developments alongside a remarkable team.
We @TrPR_Program@ucsf agree that this is an exciting time for psychedelic research in the Bay! Here’s a link to the ucsf magazine article that describes our efforts @ucsf
As we are talking about psychedelic research at @ucsf and @StanfordMed, would like to highlight our ongoing collaboration w/ @TheBorisLab on a trial of psilocybin for chronic low back pain starting recruitment shortly.
I had a great time interviewing Dr. David Gard about psilocybin-assisted therapy, and how psychologists may be integrating such tools into future practice. He also shared some updates about the @TrPR_Program trial of 🍄 for depression in #bipolardisorder type 2. More 📽️ to come!
NEW EPISODE! #talkBD🍄
Researcher/psychologist Dr. David Gard breaks down the latest research on psychedelics in supporting mental health, use of psilocybin to treat #bipolar, and reviews the benefits and risks.

Nice to see @TrPR_Program work referenced in the NYT nytimes.com/2023/02/10/well/… risk of psychedelics causing mania/psychosis especially in people with personal or fam hx of bipolar is complex. If it occurs, the rates must be very low. We are conducting a trial in bd2 to learn more.
Are you or someone you know currently depressed and have bipolar 2 disorder? @Trpr_program is recruiting for a trial of psilocybin therapy. To learn more, for to psychedelics.ucsf.edu or email psilocybinstudies@ucsf.edu.
An international web-based survey on experiences of psilocybin consumption found that 32.2% of respondents w/ bipolar disorder described new/increasing symptoms after psilocybin trips.

Excited to announce a new milestone for TrPR. This week we successfully dosed three participants with psilocybin. Our capacity to deliver psychedelic therapy is increasing.
The longer people with #anorexia go untreated, “the worse the chance of recovery is," UCSF's Dr. Amanda Downey (@drdowneydoes) says. Downey & team will be studying the impact of psychedelics on younger patients with the #EatingDisorder. ucsfh.org/3VT4l8h
