I got more sleep last night by delaying bedtime for 2 hours to drive to the hospital and serially evaluate a potential compartment syndrome than I would have by lying in bed worrying about it. When in doubt, go see the patient.

Das stimmt. Wir machen keine Herzops, keine teure Antikörpertherapie, keine spezifische Krebstherapie. Unser Job ist es aus 100 Leuten in der Infektsprechstunde den rauszufischen, der solche Therapie braucht und den ganzen Bumbs zu organisieren. Ein leiser Job ohne Ruhm.

I’ve done this many times in the OR. If I have a bad gut feeling about a case, regardless of what “the chart” says, i am canceling. That voice has never steered me wrong, and whenever I’ve not listened to it in the past, I’ve had problems.

Endlich gibt es Mutterschutz auch bei frühen Fehlgeburten. Aber anstatt dass wir uns einfach mal freuen kommt aus allen ecken: "Rabähhh was ist mit Männern???" Als würde denen was weg genommen weil Frauen denen etwas schlimmes passiert ein bisschen menschlicher behandelt werden.
