Yes, much needs to be done in our ALL our cities. Scale of PT is linked to car usage. Lots of room to improve public transport like buses. Maybe we can reduce car use by as much as 20% but that just takes us back to 2003 levels of road traffic, to increase with pop growth again.

An interesting concept but my concern is that drivers would be more distracted by this rather than being attentive to their surroundings. We’d need to see data from some trials before we could draw and firm conclusions though.
The display on the back of the truck displays an image of the front of the truck, allowing you to determine whether or not it is safe to pass it.

Revenue from passenger journeys is still below pre-pandemic levels and the taxpayer has funded the industry approx £31bn in the last two years. Phasing out old-fashioned and costly ways of working will help get the industry back on track – serving passengers and taxpayers.

France just legislated that every parking lot for 80 cars or more must be covered by solar panels That’s 11GW of new solar (same as 10 new nuclear reactors) powering millions of home - zero new land needed Climate action is happening, just not at #COP27 publicsenat.fr/article/parle…

If you have to park your car in your front yard - and many of us do - permeable pavers are a better solution than a solid lump of resin and aggregate. Even on that small site, there should still be room for some slender trees - silver birch, lombardy poplar...

I don’t see a downside to this.
France is not fucking around New legislation demands all *existing* carparks with 80 or more spaces must install a solar roof (in 3-5 years) This could generate up to 11 gigawatts, which is the equivalent of 10 nuclear reactors electrek.co/2022/11/08/franc…
