The Armed Forces played a major ceremonial role in the State Opening of Parliament today.
Nearly 1,200 military personnel and 200 horses took part in escorting Their Majesties The King and Queen from Buckingham Palace to the House of Lords.

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and Cavalry Band have passed their rigorous annual inspection. Their first big job will be providing the Sovereign’s Escort at the State Opening of Parliament next week.

The British Army joyfully celebrated the third anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen with two impressive Royal Gun Salutes in the heart of London, along with salutes across the UK.

Every year, tickets are made available through the ballot for The King’s Birthday Parade and the deadline this year is 27 March.
A few days later, the names that have been drawn out will be contacted and given the chance to buy tickets for the parade.
