Saw an article about bar coded self-service fountain drinks. Claimed it was "new as of this year." Didn't know it was still 2022 (first year I saw one of those).
So this post got me thinking and I want to share a story... I've been doing profissional unreal work for just shy a decade. A few years ago, I begun to do virtual production in unreal & was hired to teach VP. Was even on the team Epic hired to do the masterclassc for broadcast VP
Eventually I just stopped trying to correct him and worked on other stuff I had to do for long term clients (my VR work mostly). Anyway, about a year later I'm in a panel for Unreal and VP. The guy's boss from earlier was on the panel too. Guess who was let go?
Sometimes you just need to sit back and cut your losses. Someone arguing and being wrong so confidentially will eventually trip up and get in serious trouble.
To anyone who cares, I am replacing my computer. I had a 6tb @westerndigital external drive I was using to transfer data. It died in the first 8 hours of use. This is why I don't buy Western Digital (never once had a drive from them last more than a year)
Our newest #Unreal plug-in is now available. A fully replicated (multiplayer) item, inventory, crafting, storage, &merchant system. The lightweight components make it ideal to attach to any actor in your game. Come check it out or try the demo at: unrealengine.com/marketplace…
A little sample of what #VirtualProduction in #UnrealEngine5 can do - this was from a production test. It involved the use of a LED volume, live compositing, and Unreal Engine running nDisplay.

Differences in being sick while working in academia vs industry.
Academia worked like hourly jobs, "find someone to cover your teaching"
Industry works like a humane person, "take the time off, don't touch any work stuff, we've got it, don't burn out."

Starting the prep for my #UE5 replicated Battle Royale game. This #tutorial needs help though. I can get most of the animations I want for the UE4 mannequin but not the UE5 one. They need to be free (so others can follow along). I need punching, crouched, & armed states. Help?
Great experience last weekend collaborating with Maplight Filmworks and Resolution Studios. A Virtual Production location shoot on the main stage while it was -27 windchill outdoors. Another benefit of VP - No weather delays. 🥶🎥

this was a fun shoot to work on. Hard to imagine it was so cold during the shoot, definitely would have had to do it at another time if it wasn't for VP being able to counter weather
