This is an admission of failure dressed up as good news.
Delighted to officially open Dublin Simon Community’s Health and Addiction Care Facility and to see first-hand the services being delivered at Usher’s Island.

The foreign minister of Israel believes he has moral standing to apportion shame and “disgrace” on other nations, incl Ireland, for withdrawing from a song contest. — 70,000 Palestinians dead (est.). — Hunger as weapon of war. — PM wanted for war crimes.
I welcome the decision of the European Broadcasting Union. I am ashamed of those countries that chose to boycott a music competition like Eurovision because of Israel’s participation. The disgrace - is upon them.

This rough diamond? Nothing rough about him.

Mikel Arteta has taken a rough diamond in Eberechi Eze and turned him into a superstar. Occasional glimpses of brilliance at Crystal Palace have been turned into consistency at Arsenal, and the man is now a match winner under Arteta. Arsenal’s talent ID is second to none. #afc

When Eze was at QPR he was pure class and not a sniff from the media . It’s like he only played for Palace . Not one QPR fan is shocked at how good he is now. Born in south London made in W12

Ronaldo posed at the White House, polishing the image of Trump, a president directly complicit in the genocide in Gaza. Maradona, on the other hand, never played along. When America showered him with “gifts,” he sent them back with a message they couldn’t spin with PR.

Israel: where the story isn’t the gang rape of a detainee, but the leak that exposed it and “tarnished” the country’s reputation.
Compare the headlines: @MiddleEastEye names a “Palestinian prisoner rape scandal,” while @BBCNews reduces it to a “video leak.” removing the victim and sanitising the story. When media erase context, they don’t stay neutral. they distort reality. #Gaza #Israel

I'm eleven years as an MEP. Not sure who Stephen Collins hangs out with but the issue of Ireland being a neutral country has never once been even mentioned to me by another MEP.
Stephen Collins: Ireland’s neutrality is widely regarded as a joke. It’s time to get real irishtimes.com/opinion/2025/…

You can’t really disagree with any of this ..
Normally, I'd look at the papers, listen to the radio, or watch the telly to see the reaction to the result of an election. With this one, I don't see the point. They've made themselves completely irrelevant. They spent the last week saying that the turnout would be at a record low when, in fact, the turnout was higher than the last Presidential election. Haven't yet heard any of them say they got it wrong. Even though their misdiagnosis could easily have led to a self-fulfilling prophecy where people didn't actually turn up to vote. They repeatedly said that the election was dull and uninteresting. While at the same time asking the same questions on repeat. The only thing dull about this election was how it was covered. It also begs the question that if they all find politics so dull and boring, why dont they go and do a job that they do find interesting. Rather than trying to turn an election into a circus for their own entertainment.

It’s sufficient, at zero, to know soldiers shouldn’t shoot unarmed civilians dead. Thanks for asking.
And your military experience is?

A disgraceful post from the leader of a political party. Waving around in triumph the insignia of a regiment that killed 14 unarmed civilians. Tribal sectarianism at its worst.
I welcome todays common sense judgement. Soldier F trial has been a painful and protracted process. There needs to be a better way of dealing with the legacy of the past and to ensure no rewriting of it.

Because roughly 1700 of the Palestinians being released were held without charge; Because more than 100 Palestinian *children* were being held without charge by Israel; Because more than 150 released Palestinians are being deported, not returned to their families.
How does Marni Hughes on @NewsNation allow @NiallStanage to call the hostage release a “prisoner exchange” and imply Israel is not allowing “Palestinian hostages” to return to their families, when they are Hamas terrorists, some active participants/masterminds of 10/7? Disgraceful.

1,720 hostages are being released today. 20 of them are Israelis taken on 7/10, several of whom are military personnel. The remaining 1,700 are Palestinian civilians taken by Israel after 7/10 to use as bargaining chips. Israel is still holding many more hostages.
