Thanking all those who joined the presentation on Buccal Epithelium Hashed and Encapsulated in Scaffold – Hybrid Approach to Urethral Stricture (BHES-HAUS) clinical study outcome at the AUA 2026 in Washington DC, USA. Abstract available at auajournals.org/doi/abs/10.1… BHES-HAUS: Major takeaways: • Patient comfort – BHES-HAUS is safe and a single-sitting procedure. • Physician convenience – BHES-HAUS is a less-invasive endoscopic procedure that can be done in any urology setup. • Procedural simplicity – No laboratory-based cell culture or transportation is needed. • Proven safety & Clinical efficacy: In all 15 patients who underwent BHES-HAUS, safety with efficacy shown by recurrence-free outcomes and no need for self-intermittent catheterization in 73.3% of the patients. BHES-HAUS study included patients who had undergone prior procedures viz., DVIU, and BMG plasty, whose failure had resulted in stricture recurrence and those with post-TURP stricture. Special appreciation and acknowledgement to Prof. Akio Horiguchi, whose validation of BEES-HAUS in animal studies to prove buccal cell engraftment is the first of its kind in the world.
