This is the hottest we have ever observed.
The Mediterranean is now completely outside all previous records. We have never measured this level of heat across the basin at any time of year.
It is only July. We usually see the annual maximum in August.

Netflix created a "What Can I Do?" website to go along with #DontLookUp. Adam McKay and I have been working together with them to make it better. Hopefully we can. Much more than changing lightbulbs alone in their homes, we need people joining together into a powerful movement.

Had a productive meeting with @citizensclimate where we discussed climate initiatives like carbon pricing & offshore wind.
Legislation such as my Central Coast Heritage Protection Act & the bipartisan infrastructure law take necessary steps to address the climate crisis.

RE: absence of carbon tax in Finance draft, Politico reported Friday:
"Today's draft won't be the final bill text, [Finance Chair] Wyden said, since discussions are ongoing with senators including Manchin on the sticking points."
Guessing carbon tax is a sticking point.
