Develop a Greenfield Expressway Corridor A dedicated expressway should be built connecting these major locations: Punaura Dham Ahilya Sthan Darbhanga Airport Benipur Biraul Baba Kushwaha Sthan Ending at Khagaria District HQ This corridor will provide: 🔹Direct NH standard connectivity 🔹Boost in religious tourism 🔹Faster access to Darbhanga Airport A new east–west mobility spine in North Bihar 2. Upgrade Rosera National Highway (Under Construction) Rosera–Darbhanga NH under construction should be made 4 lane. It should be extended up to Begusarai, closing a major connectivity gap between Darbhanga & Begusarai. 3. Supaul–Darbhanga Connection (Already Announced) Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has already announced a new NH project: Starts from Bairiya Manch A new Kosi bridge will be built Route will pass through Madhepur (Madhubani) Connects Supaul HQ → Darbhanga HQ Demand: The DPR should be prepared quickly and work should start at a fast pace. 4. Upgrade Saharsa–Darbhanga Route to 4-Lane NH The current link is via: State Highway & MDR Road This entire stretch should be upgraded to a 4-lane National Highway, ensuring safe and fast travel between the two district HQs. This centrally located region of Bihar has been completely bypassed by National Highways, impacting travel, development, tourism, logistics, and airport access. Dear Darbhanga Police , Today in Darbhanga, I had a very disappointing experience. A journey of barely 3 kilometers took nearly 3 hours to complete. Thousands of people are helplessly stuck in traffic for hours. Many passengers, including myself, have purchased emergency flight tickets worth ₹30,000–₹40,000, yet are being forced to walk several kilometers carrying luggage just to reach the airport. The most concerning part is that on the entire route to Darbhanga Airport, not a single Bihar Police personnel was visible for traffic management. At Zero Mile, people remain stranded in massive traffic jams for hours without any effective regulation. Such situations not only cause inconvenience to travelers but also damage the image of Darbhanga and Bihar. It is unfortunate that traffic leading to a relatively small airport cannot be managed properly. Absolutely, I was in Gauhati a week ago and it felt surreal to see signboards using the native Ahomiya script, which was heavily influenced by Tirhuta due to the intellectual exchange and scholarship traditions of Mithila. I felt more at home in Gauhati than in the Devanagari-influenced contemporary Mithila. We must undertake this mission to rejuvenate the Tirhuta script across all walks of social life and encourage the youth to become familiar with and adopt our cultural heritage before it dies out after waiting forever. Mithila must be elevated to its erstwhile glory and establish itself as the center of knowledge and traditions. It ain’t gonna happen unless we embrace this wholeheartedly without an iota of doubt.
