This is the latest in a series of truck crashes in the Niagara/St. Catharines region over the last couple of weeks. We know residents and even law enforcement are increasingly frustrated. As the Globe & Mail concurred, these are not isolated incidents - they're part of a systemic pattern of lawlessness in trucking. We have been asking the province for logical solutions to the truck safety crisis in Ontario where poorly trained drivers, hired by negligent trucking companies put everyone at risk. Jason’s Law was passed 14 year ago. Now, we may finally be seeing a literal payoff. The DOT is ready to dole out $200M for truck parking projects, and nearly $1 BILLION more could potentially be on the way. 🔗 landline.media/congress-open…

On behalf of the trucking industry, we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Toronto Police Constable Marc Pinizzotto and the extended Toronto Police family. #HerosInLife #NeverForgotten
It is with deep and profound sorrow that we announce and mourn the loss of PC Marc Pinizzotto, 43, of our Emergency Task Force, killed in the line of duty today. Marc devoted 18 years to serving the people of Toronto, including 5 years with ETF. He was a courageous officer, a respected colleague, and a man who put others before himself. Today, a police family has lost their loved one, and our Service has lost a brother. The grief is immeasurable. Our hearts are with Marc’s family, his loved ones, and his ETF teammates. Our members will stand with them, now and always. A hero in life. See my full statement tps.ca/media-centre/news-rel…
