Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has regained full accreditation after resolving financial concerns that led to sanctions in 2023.
Following an April review, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges determined the seminary is now fully compliant with accreditation standards. President David Dockery called the decision an answer to prayer and evidence of God's “abundant grace and kindness.”
The seminary addressed financial weaknesses identified in a 2022 audit by increasing revenue, reducing expenses, and selling property. Dockery said the experience strengthened the school's commitment to faithful stewardship and accountability.
