We have an AWESOME Monday in store! Highs near 80 with lower humidity. Enjoy it! A few spotty showers are possible early Tuesday, but no issues for our first World Cup match at Kansas City Stadium. We are watching a heightened risk for strong storms in the region Wednesday PM.

Two 85 mph EF-0 tornadoes touched down in the KC metro Saturday evening. Luckily, no injuries were reported from these tornadoes. That now makes it 29 total tornadoes in our viewing area so far this severe season! #tornado

🛣️ More than 50 roads in Missouri are currently closed due to flooding. ⚠️ Today’s severe weather may produce more locally heavy rainfall & isolated flash flooding, particularly in locations receiving multiple rounds of storms. 🛑 NEVER be tempted to drive into floodwater because it appears shallow. Looks are deceiving & the roadway may not be intact. 🌊 Just SIX inches of water can cause loss of control and stalling in vehicles, & TWO FEET of rushing water can sweep most vehicles away. #TurnAroundDontDrown

Let's talk storms... FRI NIGHT/EARLY SAT: Seeing increased signs for a complex of noisy storms. This favors near I-70 & south. Watch for some flash flooding. SAT PM/EVENING: A line of storms comes in from the NW. This has a much larger severe threat. Could impact Fan Fest.

Exciting day in KC! Fifa Fan Fest starts this afternoon. A couple of things to note if you're going... -It's looking hot & humid through early PM -The cold front comes in and helps spark some storms near/east of I-35 -Storms intensify as they move east of the metro -NICE evening

A farther south expansion of the Severe Thunderstorm Watch just was issued. Andrew, Daviess, Dekalb and Grundy added. This is still through 10 AM. Counties to the east of our coverage area just were added to a Tornado Watch until 3 PM. @KCTV5 #mowx
