What these images really demonstrate is that there shouldn't be an airport on our waterfront at all. We have made and are making massive billions of dollars investments across the area, all of which will be heavily compromised or flat out obviated by an expanded Billy Bishop

I am a signatory to this letter. Open, fully informed and unbiased public hearings are required, supported by due diligence and meaningful analysis. The public cannot be expected to provide informed feedback when neither the proposal nor its impacts have been properly presented. Forgive us for being suspicious, but all we have so far is a process the Province deliberately rushed into place to cut Torontonians out, and a federal consultation process built around a survey that reflects neither the complexity of the issue nor the information needed to properly evaluate it.

Larger than downtown refers to the footprints of other North American airports with roughly 10 million passengers a year. Toronto’s downtown core covers about 4,000 acres. Indianapolis International: 7700 acres. Pittsburgh is 8800. Edmonton: about 7000.

None of this is an ATTACK on oPM Carney. He has NOT (via the federally-controlled Port Authority) actually proposed an airport. It's just important not to let Ford's falsely frame the expected federal decision NOT to proceed as PM Carney "interfering" with a provinicial project.
