Created one pillar page. 18 months later: it ranks for 1,247 keywords and drives 28K monthly sessions from a single URL. Most marketers are still publishing dozens of posts with little traffic. A single well-structured pillar page can outperform an entire blog. Here’s the exact template that makes it work 🧵👇

my mates dad ran a recruitment agency for 23 years sold it for €4.2m asked him at a bbq how he built it "james, i never recruited a single person" "what do you mean" "i made 600 cold calls a week for 23 years. thats it. found companies who needed staff. found people who needed jobs. connected them. took a cut. no skill involved" he lit a cigar "the lads who try to 'build systems' and 'create processes' and 'scale with technology' - they all went bust. i just kept calling" asked what advice he gives new recruiters he laughed "i tell them to build their personal brand and leverage linkedin content strategy" "why if thats not what worked?" "because if i told them the truth theyd realise they dont need me or my course" he made €4.2m from cold calls but sells courses teaching everything except cold calls "the secret is too boring to sell. so i package it in frameworks that make people feel smart" the people selling you complexity got rich from simplicity they just cant sell simplicity because it doesnt look like €2,000 worth of information 600 calls a week 23 years €4.2m exit thats the whole playbook but nobody wants to hear it

I want to build Longevity Hotels. 5 villas. Pitch black bedrooms, eight sleep mattresses, 0 noise. Reverse osmosis water filters. Air filters. Ergonomic desks. There's a restaurant with a chef cooking @bryan_johnson's approved meals. Ingredients from local organic shops. There's also a gym with a coach and a few classes a day. Sauna. Cold bath. The complex is in nature. Quiet but not too far from a nearby city. Customers would be people who've built online businesses and are looking for a place to focus for a few weeks. That's my dream place to stay. I don't know anything about physical business and real estate, but I want to make this real.

Now, the first step is keyword research. Find something easy to rank for that could potentially recommend your brand. Ahrefs is a great tool for this. Look for keywords with a KD(Knowledge Difficulty) of 10 or less. Also, aim for low DR(Domain Rating) sites ranking on the first page.

"I need to speak to my partner before we move forward." Damn. Another 45 minutes wasted. So, after this happened way too many times... I found the fix. Today a mastermind member hopped on a sales call - it was supposed to be all three decision-makers on there... And only one guy showed. What would you do? Pitch to the one guy, right? Do your 15 minutes, know you probably lost the deal, and scurry back to your inbox hoping to find somebody else? That's not what happened here. Instead, our member did what we trained him to do. He said: "If we can't get all the stakeholders together for the call right now, we should reschedule." And they did. And 5 minutes later, the CLIENT SENT AN APOLOGY EMAIL. Now the next time they hop on a call, a conversation will have occurred behind the scenes like: "I know you hate lead gen agencies, but you really need to meet this guy." Do you think he's got a higher chance? Here’s your basic checklist to stop this from happening: 1. Ask for decision-makers upfront. The simple line: "If we decide to move forward today, is there anybody else that would need to be in on this decision?" If they say no, proceed. If they say yes… 2. Postpone the call. Ask right there: "Can you go get them?" or "Can you pull your co-founder in right now?" Sometimes you can, and it speeds up the sales cycle. If not... RESCHEDULE the meeting. Because if not? Your chance of closing is near 0. And if it’s going to be close to 0 anyway, you might as well take that risk and ask for the reschedule. 3. Focus on Other Deals If the above wasn’t easy for you... it’s because you have too few meetings. That means every call feels like gold. We need to make them more like copper. If you’re flooded with sales calls, you can stick to your process without worrying about losing money. Potential client is a dick? OK, pass. Not confident you can deliver? Great, no need to force it. And when they are a fit? No brainer. Sign them. Get the money and the testimonial. Then raise your prices. Do this enough times and be free. Apply these strategies inside AB Mastermind and get the volume you need to be this confident. Talk soon, Alex P.S. If you had 20 sales calls a week, you wouldn’t hesitate to push back on bad deals. Let’s make that happen - join AB Mastermind today (use the link in my bio)

React Server Components (RSC) is actually such a major productivity boost It's so much faster to just write database queries inline without having to create an API route first and then client fetching logic after Much less code to maintain in the long term too

six months ago, I knew nothing about making apps - I couldn’t code - I had 0 funding or resources - I didn’t know the first thing about marketing - I constantly wrestled with self-doubt but I wanted financial freedom so I made the scariest decision of my life I left my job, packed everything I owned into my rusty Toyota, and drove across the country from the Midwest to California no safety net, no plan B, no turning back now I wake up to notifications I once thought were a pipe dream i'm going to be sharing everything I've learned about building apps, getting your first customer, growing to $10k MRR, and betting on yourself more to come soon
