I had a trans from male to female tell me, she had a hard childhood and was removed from their family home as a teenager and put in to the foster system, they told her, she had body dysmorphia, and that was why she was depressed, and then started her on hormone Therapy at age 15. She told me, if i had a good family, and good childhood i would have been normal and still a male, but ive changed my body so much, i have to now own and love who i am. Then my own daughter at age 15 told me she wanted to be male, and i told her, don’t be mad at yourself if you change your mind but i wont put you on any hormone treatment but if she wanted to dress like a boy, i didnt care. . I told her that she had a major hormone imbalance causing her to think that way and i just needed to convince a doctor to check her levels, that was a 8 year fight. (Military treatment facility) finally got her tested and her hormones were almost in critical levels, 1% away. She got treatment and is normal and now says shes happy i didnt allow her to change her body because she doesn’t want to be a male, she couldn’t believe what hormones could do, to her mind. She also dropped from 171 lbs to 114lb within a year and is very girly now. I used to live in cali, if i would have lived there during this time in her life, she could have just got the hormone therapy at school, not knowing there was anything else going on and it could have made her really sick too. And our food, especially from restaurants, have so many endocrine disruptors (meaning hormone disruptors) so how many children do this change, not realizing it could be what they’re eating, causing them to think this way. Its something like 91% of trans have regret. I think this is a good thing

When I was a building principal, we had a group of boys who were consistently getting office referrals during lunch for aggressive and disruptive behaviors. In the past, these behaviors had led to increasingly severe consequences that did not reduce the negative behaviors (and caused some students to be sent home and to miss instruction). I sat down with the group and we worked together to come up with a plan on what to do during lunch. One of the boys asked if we could start a knitting club, since his Auntie had recently taught him how to knit. Since he was a leader of the group, the other boys agreed. I asked them to come back tomorrow with some ideas of what to knit. The next day one of the boys said that he wanted to knit little hats for the preemies at the hospital, since his little cousin was there and that a nurse mentioned that they had run out of the little hats. The boys knitted daily and we delivered the hats to the hospital. We received many heartfelt thank you notes from families, nurses and doctors (and even an in-person visit with a personal thank you and cookies from a newborn's mom). This group continued to grow as did our ability to create knitted hats for preemies. This became a huge success for the participating students. There was significant improvement in the students’ behavior, attitude, achievement, and attendance. It is so important to think outside of the box for “win-win” solutions. It really isn’t the WHAT you do that is important, it is the WHY you are doing it! Our knitting group become a team, family, and community. #maslowbeforebloom

Clearing it up!! @LawsonLonghorns @KoriWeathers
We Work Together to clear up our misconceptions! We used our @goformative on Functions to review today! One of our students explained his understanding but had some misconceptions. Another student explained his misconceptions and helped him correct himself!! Super proud!
