Russian fighter jets were on course for Stockholm, Sweden’s military says Swedish fighter jets were scrambled twice on Friday after Russian combat aircraft approached the country’s airspace over the Baltic Sea. Sweden’s armed forces have since confirmed that the Russian planes were heading toward Stockholm. Two pairs of JAS 39 Gripen jets were launched on June 13 to intercept Russian Su-24 and Su-34 aircraft in separate incidents in the southern and northern Baltic Sea. Danish aircraft also scrambled during the southern incident. Swedish airspace was not violated, and the Russian jets were tracked back toward Kaliningrad. Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum, Sweden’s chief of joint operations, said the Russian behavior was “serious” and constituted a recurring pattern threatening both territorial integrity and alliance security. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson echoed those concerns, describing the repeated Russian activity over the Baltic as serious. Stay connected, follow @Gandalv

Very emotional moment from the interview with Zelenskyy. You should watch this. JOURNALIST: Do you miss being an actor? ZELENSKYY:?I miss being a good father. JOURNALIST: When your children were little, what did you tell them the most? What was the thing that you told them the most when they were small? ZELENSKYY: I love you. JOURNALIST: And what do you tell them now that they're older? ZELENSKYY: Oh, I miss you. JOURNALIST: When was the last time you cried? ZELENSKYY: I will try to do it after our interview. No, I mean this, between us. I'm a normal man and then there are a lot of different moments, between us, almost each day, a lot of losses on the battlefield and civilians, and there are absolutely crazy attacks on our people. And I'm just, it's… I mean, It's very difficult really, when I give orders (medals). I said about it. It's always difficult for me when I give orders (medals) to the mothers and fathers, who lost their children. In such moments, really, I often cry. JOURNALIST: Are you a hero? ZELENSKYY: No. JOURNALIST: So who is your hero? ZELENSKYY:?My hero? My children, my army, our army, and Ukrainian people. So I'm a part… I'm also a Ukrainian, so I'm a part of our nation. But now our nation, I think, that our nation is absolutely heroic.

This 👇 If your moral compass is properly calibrated, politics becomes much simpler. You don’t need blind loyalty to a political tribe, but a consistent code of ethics and a genuine sense of patriotism. That means being willing to criticize your government - especially when your own party is in power. What I’ve never understood is why so many people are harsher on the opposition than on the politicians they voted for. I’m far more critical of those I supported because I entrusted them with my vote. I put my trust in their promises and expect them to deliver. Holding the opposition accountable is easy. Holding your own side accountable is what integrity requires. Anything less is not only futile - it’s hypocritical.
“Patriotism means supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.” Mark Twain. Seems Appropriate Today.

Belgrade’s "Back Door" is open and Moscow is walking right in. While the rest of the continent tries to hold the line against putin’s regime, Serbia is busy handing out passports to Russians. A chilling investigation from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) published this June has pulled the curtain back on the operation: in just the first five months of 2026, Russians received "national interest" citizenship at a rate four times higher than every other foreign nationality combined. It is a deliberate, dangerous loophole. We aren’t talking about everyday citizens looking for a fresh start. RFE/RL identified recipients linked to sanctioned oligarchs and the Kremlin’s inner circle, people who should be persona non grata. Thanks to Serbia’s visa-free access to the Schengen Area, these individuals, people who are effectively blacklisted by the democratic world, now have a golden ticket into the heart of Europe. Belgrade wants the perks of being an EU candidate, but it refuses to play by the rules. You can't claim to be on a "European path" while acting as a revolving door for the Kremlin’s interests. The EU has been patient, but this "dual-track" strategy is dead. If Serbia wants to sit at the European table, it needs to stop opening the back door for Moscow. Europe needs to stop being naive. Scrutiny isn't just an option anymore. It is a necessity. How long is Europe going to let a candidate member undermine Europe’s collective security before they actually hold them accountable? #Serbia

To understand the scale of today’s Russian crime against humanity’s historical heritage: it is the equivalent of bombing St. Peter’s Basilica in a war of conquest against Italy, or Notre-Dame de Paris against France, Westminster Abbey against Britain, or Aachen Cathedral.

As a result of Russian strikes on Kyiv tonight, the building of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra caught fire. In addition to drones, Russia is hitting Kyiv with dozens of ballistic missiles; civilians are under attack, as in previous times. The chaotic nature of the strikes resembles agony: not knowing how to respond to Ukraine's precise and painful strikes, Moscow is flailing its fists in a blind frenzy. I see Ukrainian channels and theologians already writing: demons and antichrists. There is nothing to add: as you wage your war, so shall you be remembered. Russia will be remembered as the killer of Ukrainians, a mass killer of Russian speakers, and a destroyer of Christian shrines.

Noční útoky na řadu kulturních objektů včetně Kyjevskopečerské lávry odhalují čiré zoufalství a barbarství Ruska, které cíleně ničí to, co nemůže nikdy mít. Vyjadřuji upřímnou soustrast rodinám obětí. Ukrajina nyní potřebuje naši podporu, včetně uvalení dalších sankcí na Rusko.

Canada strongly condemns Russia’s latest attack on Kyiv, including the strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a sacred site in Ukraine and Eastern Christianity.    Canada stands with Ukraine. Their cause — freedom, democracy, sovereignty — is our cause.

The Dovzhenko film studio in Kyiv is one of the oldest centers of world cinema. Established in 1927, it’s where Dziga Vertov, Sergey Paradzhanov and obviously Oleksandr Dovzhenko shot some of their masterpieces. It survived WWII because its collection was evacuated to Central Asia before the Nazi takeover. This morning, it was hit by Russian missiles. The entire collection of 100,000 costumes going back nearly a century burned down. Other priceless artifacts gone, too. Barbarians sacking Europe’s cultural heritage.

This is the UNESCO World Heritage site i Kyiv that Russia has bombed tonight. Founded in 1051. A craddle of Eastern Christianity and one of the most important cultural sites in all of Eastern Europe. Right now the cathedral is burning because Russia has no moral, no values.

The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is to all Orthodox Christians what is Vatican to the Catholics and Mecca - to the Muslims. You don't touch it unless you are Barbarians.
By striking the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, one of the greatest holy sites of Christianity, Putin has forever put his name on the list of history’s worst barbarians. He should be damned for centuries. And he will lose this war. From the Horde in the 13th century to the Nazis and Bolsheviks in the 20th century, Kyiv’s sacred monasteries have suffered numerous barbarically attacks. Now we are dealing with Russian terrorists who have already outmatched ISIS in their crimes against cultural heritage. Only Russian scum who have nothing sacred can deliberately damage the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a unique UNESCO heritage site under special protection. We will be urgently initiating all relevant procedures within UNESCO and all other international mechanisms, demanding immediate and adequate responses to this state barbarism. We expect strong reactions by international institutions and capitals. No vague words, silence, or weak steps. We need action now to stop Russian barbarism.

Russia increased attacks on Ukrainian civilians again last night and carried out strikes that damaged a UNESCO World Heritage site in Kyiv. These are war crimes, and Russia will have to answer for them. In response, today we are adopting additional sanctions targeting Russia's military-industrial complex and its shadow fleet. Every measure further restricts Russia's room for manoeuvre. My press remarks ahead of today’s Foreign Affairs Council ↓

Russia hates Christianity when its intel services don’t control it, and keeps hitting Ukrainian churches because of it. Anyone who claims that Russia is a bastion of Christianity is an idiot and/or a Russian asset. Kyiv last night:

We are deeply disturbed that Kyiv Pechersk Lavra – a UNESCO World Heritage site and a symbol of Ukraine’s history and identity – has been damaged in last night’s attacks. Cultural heritage belongs to all humanity and must be protected. Norway stands with Ukraine.
