ALT Call for applicants – Master’s in Engineering or Environmental Studies or other discipline if applicable Project: The pilot project proposes a new interdisciplinary collaboration between an Inuk Knowledge Holder and community leader, a Nunavut Hamlet Mayor, a civil engineer, a biologist, a sociologist, and a Master’s graduate student. While we have never worked together as a team, what unites our proposed collaboration are the longstanding observations of the worsening waste crisis in Nunavut communities – with two members of our directly experiencing this crisis daily – and growing concerns with the failure of successive academic, industry, and government recommendations and interventions to reduce waste in communities. The project will build on an already established partnership with the Hamlet of Panniqtuuq.
