🚨 Our multicenter real-world study on immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has been published in Current Oncology! We evaluated 458 patients treated with immunotherapy across four tertiary oncology centers in Türkiye and investigated 30-day mortality after the last ICI dose. 📊 We found that 15.5% of patients died within 30 days of their final immunotherapy administration. Patients experiencing early mortality had dramatically shorter outcomes, with median PFS of 1.18 months and median OS of only 2.3 months. 🩺 ECOG performance status ≥2, high metastatic burden (≥3 metastatic sites), and elevated inflammatory biomarkers emerged as key predictors of early mortality. Among them, the C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio (CAR) demonstrated remarkable predictive performance. 📈 Our CAR-based model achieved an AUC of 0.954, outperforming the NLR-based model and highlighting the importance of integrating systemic inflammation and nutritional status into clinical decision-making. 🎯 In lung cancer patients, CAR and NLR remained independent predictors of 30-day mortality, suggesting that objective laboratory biomarkers may provide additional prognostic value beyond performance status alone. 🤝 These findings may help identify patients unlikely to benefit from continued immunotherapy and support earlier integration of supportive and palliative care when appropriate. #Immunotherapy #Oncology #CancerResearch #LungCancer #Melanoma #RenalCellCarcinoma #MedicalOncology #ASCO #ESMO #CurrentOncology 👏👏@kbaskurtt @uyargalip @drOrhunakdogan @osutcuoglu @DrOzanYazc1
