It was fascinating to learn about how gender role expectations of pain are related to pain sensitization measures in knee osteoarthritis with some interesting trends on conditioned pain modulation Thank you for sharing our paper @OARSI_ECI @LisaCarlesso @link_physio
🌟 Monthly #OARSI ECI Publication🌟 @YVRaghava1 found "gendered pain sensitivity & pain endurance by males & females has small & clinically unimportant associations with measures of pain sensitization requiring further validation…” Check it out: buff.ly/3ThT5DL

I lived in the US 🇺🇸 for several years and now I live in Denmark 🇩🇰 Here's a comparison of the two countries (based on my experiences): 1. Entering the country 🇺🇸 If you are a brown man like me, chances are you will be selected for "random screening.”

It may be followed by an "interview." And if you are not careful, you might even get an unwanted colonoscopy 😂 🇩🇰No random screening when entering the country. The last time I entered Denmark, here’s how the conversation went at passport control: Immigration officer: Hi Me: Hi (presents passport and residence card) Immigration officer: (stamps passport) Here you go. Me: Thanks. That's it. Took less than a minute.

"Mattering" is the belief that we’re significant to the world around us. When people feel they matter, they feel seen, important & needed through how others treat them. Scholars have deemed mattering to be a core instinct that drives all human behaviour. That’s why, when someone doesn’t believe they matter at work they: - won’t share their voice if they don’t believe their voice is significant - won’t use their strengths if they don’t believe they have strengths - won’t contribute if they don’t believe they have something to contribute - won’t care as much as if they feel cared for Actions that leaders/ teams can take: see some excellent articles by @ZachMercurio - "How to Create Mattering at Work": zachmercurio.medium.com/how-… and "The Cost of Not Mattering at Work": zachmercurio.medium.com/the-….
