Nailed it. When you strip it back to bare essentials, it is insane that Golf’s governing bodies have completely lost control of equipment used to play the game, whilst maintaining the pretence that they make the Rules. How else did we get from this to that?

People say “Corey Pavin or Larry Nelson or Calvin Peete couldn’t win in this era” like it’s a good thing. It’s astoundingly stupid.

Due to recent foot injury ( stress fracture right foot ) I’ve had to park the MGI buggy and step up to the GSC tourer until I can get the foot right and return to walking. I’d like to think of myself as a purist, but not being able to get out on the course without pain from walking I’ll gladly take a bit of technology to get me on course. Shit my shed needs a tidy up 😆❤️🏌️‍♂️❤️🏌️‍♂️❤️☀️⛳️

Penalise Larry Mize for incorrect drop at back of 15th green and The Shark wins The 87 Masters
1996 Masters (sorry @Sir_NickFaldo)

Look up the masters YouTube channel and watch Mize play the 15th. He hits 4 iron over the green into water on 16. He then takes a drop and doesn’t have his arm at shoulder height. Incorrect drop. What’s the point of a rule if it’s not going to be officiated properly. There was a rules guy standing next to him. What’s done is done but I was just answering the question 👍

Holy shit this is unbearable… 1:20 to line up an 8-footer and still miss nearly a foot low. I feel for his playing partners, you can see them squirming/waiting. I think the kids say… #shrink

The 71st hole of an Open Championship - all square with two to play - turn the volume up and have a listen to Lee Trevino. Incredible. A different time. 🏌🏻‍♂️

Watching the 1986 US Open at Shinnecock, the game is hardly recognizable to the landscape of professional golf today. Everywhere you look there were homemade swings. Highly idiosyncratic moves like Floyd (who won) Trevino and Lanny Wadkins here, all with fierce belief in their games.

Ahh but how does the foot do that or better still why does it do that? I learned it from The Shark directly so I know the answer
