Today, I have the great delight of worshipping w/ Pastor Bo Collins, his lovely family, and the saints at Redeemer PCA in Southern Pines, NC. I miss Old Antioch, but what a joy to meet with God’s people in other places. I’m preaching 1 Kings 3, “Wisdom for Life in Leadership.”

Got to hear my friend, Rev. Cornelius Johnson, bring the goods to the @OceansideURC one last time this morning: “Striving to Enter the Narrow Gate” (Luke 13:22–30) “Corn” has been with us since about 2022 and is soon to retire from the U.S. Navy where he serves as a chaplain. He’ll be taking up his next charge as pastor of Trinity Reformed Presbyterian Church in Lanham, MD. This is a very small congregation. Pray for its revitalization!

Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, mentioned here is the mother church of Upcountry Presbyterianism and is where the Presbyterian Church in South Carolina was 'particularized' into its first presbytery (out of NC's Orange) after the American Revolution. It was also the church of my father's mother's people.

So good to be back in New York City for @RTSNewYork Commencement. For the ninth time @ReformTheoSem will graduate students in the church where Harry Emerson Fosdick once preached. “Shall the Fundamentalists win?” Apparently so.

Guys, I know this will attract trolls, but I’m actually genuinely asking. My 86yo father who is not in great health wants to go to Orlando to see his 84yo brother who is in really bad health, probably for the last time. A multi-day road trip would be too much wear and tear for my dad. I cannot afford private flying. Anybody got recommendations on navigating an 86yo through multiple airports when he can’t walk great? Like, how do people get the wheel chair assistance and can they wheel him through to a rental car etc? And how do you handle an intermediate airport a we’d probably have to go Baton Rouge to Atlanta to Orlando. Never done this and old age can suck. And yes, this would be a reunion between Erick and Lief Erickson. May the Vikings rise again.

One I learnt the hard way
