Before Twitter devours itself I can plug one more paper. This one is special as it is the first one I've published with no "senior" author, just myself, Alex Thorpe, and Elizabeth Fox. We show cognitive workload can alter the nature of cognitive processes!

Bit late on promoting this one but myself and some colleagues have taken steps to develop a computational model (based on the Diffusion) that can be analytically derived an applied in "real-time" across trials. Some cool applications could follow!

As a former referee, it's hard enough without utterly ridiculous "guidelines" on how to act and speak getting in the way of the game. The referee should be as invisible as possible not trying to hit metrics for penalties!

THREAD: In 2016, I had a panic attack in the middle of a conference presentation. I completely blanked in the middle of a talk, froze up, and everything in me was telling me to leg it out of the room. 1/11
Analysing some pilot data and one student sat through a two-hour study without pressing a button. Wasn't on their phone or anythign (experimenter in room the whole time). That's an impressive comittment to not working, I think the n-back would have been easier!
Seriously considering writing a paper about the misconceptions about Bayes that some reviewers have. Getting too many ridiculous, unchecked claims in reviews. Anyone interested in sharing bad Bayes reviews or collaborating on a write up?
@humanfactorsio @lukejgstrick@timothyjballard@RealNathanEvans This seems to be a bigger issue in applied journals. Thinking an editorial in @HFES_HFJournal sharing real review points and tactfully rebuking them would be a valuable paper. Thoughts?
We have become complacent with handing over unprecedented powers to government in light of the pandemic. Emergency powers like these should be a last resort and we need more transparency about how and why they are still needed.
This may be the best lab meeting we've ever had! 😍 Thank you to Jess and @ZHowardPsych for bringing our newest (and favourite!) little CogLab members along!
Is anyone available to drive 3kg of my baggage from Newcastle to Brisbane later this month so I can bring it home? One of my four flights suddenly reduced the baggage allowance on the day of our trip. Thanks @Qantas can't say it was unexpected.
That extra 3kg would have been really useful for nappies and toys given our layover was also extended from 50 minutes to 5hr 45 minutes when they decided to reduce our allowance.
We have a new DOCTOR in the lab! Say hello to Dr @ErinRobinsonUoN 🎉🌟🧪 Congratulations, Erin, on this incredible achievement! #PhDone#PhinisheD Is anything really official unless you've had cake to celebrate!?
@Qantas third time this week I've spent >3hrs on hold, still haven't even heard a human voice. Website happy to take our money but can't access itinerary or baggage, and can't speak to you. Web chat no longer available either. How exactly are customers supposed to contact you?!
Honoured to have been elected as the inaugural Vice President of the newly formed Australian Society for Mathematical Psychology. Looking forward to working with an excellent executive team!
