If the United States saw the United States doing what the United States does in other countries, the United States would invade the United States to liberate the United States from the tyranny of the United States.

There’s no one on Earth who needs AI slop, more data centres, or AI-assisted experience in every app, but every single human needs clean water, affordable energy, and a habitable planet.

Unpopular fact but every person needs clean water to survive. No one needs AI-powered mass surveillance to survive.

I’m over here recycling toilet paper roll cores, using my own bags, not running the water when I brush my teeth, while billionaires are blowing up rockets and building water-polluting data centers. It’s hard not to be discouraged.

I don’t want AI in every app. I don’t want data centers everywhere. I don’t want self-driving cars. I don’t want cities on Mars. I want clean water. I want affordable healthcare. I want a habitable planet. I want safety. And I want bees to survive.

I genuinely don’t think people understand how insane this is. In just 50 years, we’ve wiped out around 70% of animal populations on Earth. Not hundreds of years ago. Not ancient history. In one lifetime. Entire species disappearing. Forests going silent. Oceans being emptied. And somehow the world treats it like just another statistic instead of a full-blown emergency. That should scare all of us a lot more than it does.

All these people saying Ireland is positively transformed! When I started working in the mid 1980s, within a couple of years I was able to take out a mortgage and buy a house in South Dublin on one salary. No 25 year old can do that now. A whole generation is leaving because they see no future in Ireland, although we claim to be one of the wealthiest countries in the world. We have had twenty years of progressively worse government.
