For large pharma companies serious about integrating ML throughout their organizations, I believe they'll need infrastructure like what @tamarindbio has created. With so many open and closed source solutions, a constantly changing model backdrop, pipelines that need constructing/maintaining/provisioning, etc ~ it's only going to get harder to conquer without a partner like Tamarind.

It's been amazing to watch @joshim5, @jackdent, and team work at speed. This is the wrong time to be a goalpost mover or a chronic under-estimator of ML velocity, and my team at @_DimensionCap would agree. Chai is speed-running what I thought would take years and years. I'm asking myself all sorts of new questions now, mostly about what would be possible if biologic design cost/time asymptotes towards 0. Today, I still think folks are not thinking creatively enough about what happens here. From having immediate/potent tool compounds, to mechanistic deconvolution, to reagents that actually work without dressing up Western blots in MS paint. Oh, and amazing therapeutics too. The sky is the limit!

📣 New @_DimensionCap essay on training data recipes for bio-focused ML models, by @bauer_lesavage The data market is pretty vibrant right now. Frontier labs are buying big chunks of targeted data, multi-modal data, even bio-data. Bio platform companies are benefitting from this obviously ~ it's a new (and large) customer segment for them beyond pharma. With this marketplace developing, I was happy that Bauer chose to explore this topic. He makes arguments around data scale versus data quality, semantic versus stylistic diversity, amongst other things. While there's a good bit of model training theory from LLMs that ports over to life-sci, Bauer found it's definitely not 1:1. Like all things, there's some nuance. Check out his newest paper!
