Here's what you need to know: Senior members of Trump's team — including JD Vance, Susie Wiles, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, Todd Blanche, and others — reportedly held multiple emergency meetings in the White House Situation Room to develop a strategy for dealing with the fallout from the Epstein scandal. In the same room where Obama's national security team monitored the operation that killed Osama bin Laden, Trump's aides were discussing how to respond to questions about their boss's connections to a convicted sex trafficker who exploited minors. According to the Times, Vance was concerned about the situation and even suggested arranging an interview between Tucker Carlson and Ghislaine Maxwell in prison, fearing that attempts to bury the story could cost Trump support among younger voters. Wiles and Blair reportedly dismissed the issue at first as minor political noise. Bongino, who left podcasting to join the FBI, repeatedly warned that they were misjudging the situation.
