I don’t understand this “billionaires shouldn’t exist” nonsense. So should $999m exist? Or 500m - should that exist? Let’s say I buy a Picasso at a garage sale for $10. Turns out it’s worth $1b! Should we cut the painting so it’s worth less than $1b? Logistically, it doesn’t make sense to me.

In the past two weeks we have: • Closed $50k in sponsorship revenue • Created an additional $50k in pipeline • Started work on our first in-person event (named it, built the speaker list, run of show, venue, budget) • Finalized new logo and branding • Developed a growth plan for the 2nd half of the year • Created a plan to re-organize and improve our community • Onboarded a new contractor • All while continuing to create content for our community, newsletter, and podcast • We have no office • We had one "team" meeting this week • We are prioritizing time with family, kids, mental health daily We're on track to grow the business 90% year over year, and we should be in a position to bring on more teammates as we start planning for 2025 and building @exitfivemedia.

My wife and I bought this journal as a gift to ourselves for our first wedding anniversary last year. The gift is: each anniversary we journal: - Reflections from the past year. - Key events that occurred. - What we did on our anniversary to celebrate. - And what we're looking forward to in our next year of marriage. Only two years in but we're already loving this exercise. It was fun to read last year's entry and reflect on the year we've had together (good and bad). This journal sits in our safe the other 364 days of the year.

Hey @ShopifyDevs could you please change the criteria for who can review an app? We have users who can't review our app but they installed it and are using it but they can't review it? Seems like weird. Run into this a few times where users want to write us a review but can't.

This happens every time I have no meetings on my calendar for the day. I pick a project where I need to go deep. I block two hours off in my calendar to focus on that project. Two hours later... I wrote three tweets, four LinkedIn comments, had two conversations on Slack, played outside with my dog for 10 minutes (because she looked bored) and ate my lunch in front of YouTube. 😏

Two great signs you're building a strong brand: 1. Your customers are talking about you in public. 2. Your competitors are forwarding your emails around internally and you can see that in your ESP 🤣 Both are happening and it's so encouraging.

I'm looking at a TON of B2B SaaS websites today while working on a research project for @exitfivemedia today. Biggest observation so far: Companies above $50M in revenue almost all have the exact same navigation. Product | Solutions | Resources | Pricing | Sign Up/Demo | Login And I can translate why each exists 🤣 "Product" = because the CRO told the head of product marketing sales needs help explaining what thier product actually does (even though sales just wants a PDF) "Solutions" = because at some point they made a push with SEO and created a bunch of landing pages "Resources" = because marketing wants to promote the content they've worked hard to create "Pricing" (without actual pricing on there) = because sales wants more meetings

Some Wins and Challenges for @exitfivemedia: • MRR is up 31% since in the last 60 days. • I am feeling that feeling. DMs. Emails. Social chatter. We have product market fit and buzz - it’s very real. • Sponsors. We have partnerships and demand from some of the top B2B SaaS companies. Great fit for this audience and a great revenue channel for us. I’d like to continue to get creative here with good fit tools for our audience. • Hiring a COO has been a game changer. Why didn’t I do this 1 year ago? Challenges: • Growing community engagement is hard. How do you get people to go to the gym every day? • Shifting the mindset from Community to Membership. There’s so much value beyond the discussions in the community. I want to tell this story more and shift the thinking to “this is a membership for B2B marketers” vs “this is a discussion forum.” That’s one of the features, but not the whole product. • There’s so much we want to add to the membership - but time and budget and resources get in the way. I’m also impatient. But focus is key. One week at a time. We’re breaking goals and projects down into weekly and monthly chunks right now.
