Originally formed in the late 1970s by Jairo Varela and Alexis Lozano, Grupo Niche played a major role in shaping how Colombian salsa is heard around the world. They helped turn Cali into a global salsa capital and proved Colombia could lead the genre. Their music fused fast dance rhythms with emotion, identity, and cultural pride. Their influence spans generations and still defines salsa today. It is hard to imagine a Latin party without songs like Cali Pachanguero, Una Aventura, Gotas de Lluvia, Sin Sentimiento, and Algo Que Se Quede.
