Soon after independence, Kenya’s political elites embraced an Extractive System of government in which a small cabal use their positions to loot public resources at the expense of the ordinary citizen. Β  Today, under William Ruto, that extractive system has become a full-blown criminal enterprise. Across virtually every public sector, the President, his cabinet, top officials in government, and corrupt businessmen have turned government into their own business. #ukombozi

Kenya loses an estimated 3 billion shillings daily to corruption. Driven by reckless borrowing, public debt has surged to nearly 13 trillion shillings, crippling private enterprise and consuming 48% of the FY 2026/27 budget for repayments. By securitizing future tax revenues, the regime is unconstitutionally mortgaging the future of Kenyan youth. We must halt this economic exploitation and restore financial accountability. #stateofthenation @UGMParty

David Maraga: Fellow Kenyans, this is my personal pledge to you. I will not steal from you. I will not allow my family or friends to steal from you... If we succeed in confronting impunity and recovering stolen assets, we will reduce the cost of living.

Clearing a unique biome and habitat and Kenya's landmark "park within a city" for a fucking car park is an offense worthy of assassination in a half serious country, what is he even doing?

Not a power plant or a manufacturing plant or a hard technical university or an hospital not even a communal centre but a fucking state Lodge? Surprisingly the upheaval is minimal at best and it appears more like the taxpayers are tired of fighting on multiple fronts. Coalesce.

To be honest, under normal circumstances, I don't believe the normal sleazy Kenyan populace is half capable of preserving this level of public standard. However, I recall Kidero's Nairobi. He was not a good man by any measure of the Kenyan political class, but Nairobi was not the dump it is now.

Just read Ethan Levin's tweet about how a dude named Tim Cotton just proposed a Bill that will make it illegal not to share intelligence with Israel. Merging the CIA and MOSSAD, literal completion of the big Satan. And considering how 40-55% of Americans support sending 'aid' and bombs to Israel, it might take a very long while for the extinction of the terrorist state of Israel. This doesn't take into account any further actions from opposing parties, but their interference at this time is minimal and any developments remain to be seen. Heart wrenching news honestly.
I hope in my lifetime i see Israel fall.

Reality is often severely disappointing, legitimately bad people have been winning a while now and it exhausts the spirit holding out hope. Epstein's clients? All free, all in positions of power, most encouraging or directly funding and supplying Epstein's extended family - israel - as they burn children alive and execute their families. They send their ill here and that collaborator/traitor of a president kills people's children for a few billion cents. Nuke this whole planet, we have lost the whole plot.

How is it possible that 3 years into this presidency abduction has become an actual export industry? Whats worse, it's solely engineered for everyone but the criminals. Whistleblowers, civil representatives, innocent civilians, foreign nationals under asylum.

Have you been to ngara? That westalands stage opposite fig tree overflows with human waste sewage for as long as I can recall. Open drainage and no manhole covers, a possibly fatal threat from injury or infections or getting carried away by floodwaters. The city we knew is gone.
Saa hii unaruka dimples za gavana mpaka kwa pavement, unaingia kwa manhole. Capital city of Singapore indeed.

You know what pisses me off the most? This is entire possible in less than a year with the budget alloted to all counties. There's no political goodwill what everyone thinks about is steal steal and steal.
I wish Nairobi looked like this. I wish every town in Kenya no matter how small looked like this.

Early reporting I'd say, didn't stick around for when they brought out the fire sticks did we? Any organisation cognizant with current Kenyan civil and political regards knows that the police WILL fire live bullets at peaceful protesters and will start a manhunt at nightfall.
Kenyan police have fired tear gas and used water cannon on Nanyuki protesters for a second week over a US-only Ebola quarantine facility at a nearby military base. Rights groups report at least one person killed as construction continues. Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb reports.

The only earnest thing this government has ever done is steal from the taxpayer and kill everyone else that dares fight against it. If you never bought into any of this bs - can't congratulate you - repeat pattern recognition is no longer a surprise factor.
Workers earning below Sh30,000 will not get the promised PAYE tax relief in the FY2026/27 budget. Treasury CS John Mbadi says the proposal is still under consideration despite President Ruto's earlier pledge.

Then we have Mpesa micro transactions for data and airtime bundle packages, we have higly atrocious bank transfer fees. ELECTRICITY token prices are highly volatile because kplc makes a 20% hike on a random Tuesday.

Do Kenyans understand just how overcharged we are in just about every product or service? Kenyans pay a premium for fuel almost 1.5 times greater than 80% of other African nations. Know what else we pay a heave premium for? Internet access. We're ranked 2nd WORLDWIDE for the most expensive Internet cost per mbps, a doller and 50 cents lower than Lebanon.

The tacit silence from all governments regarding such an apparent genocide goes to show how fragile our existence really is. Our governments would abandon us to bullets and missiles if they could make a cent or two. It really is upon the people to apply pressure on all fronts.
