It's crazy that it took Tomes like 15 seconds to write a better statement than the ARP, PCA, OPC, and URC combined.
I think Jonathan's statement could be improved a couple ways but his avoids the obvious missteps the original statement made.
Maybe something like this, but I’m NOT a church council:
“[rejecting] any theological or political teaching that claims, implies, or promotes the inherent superiority or inferiority of any people, nation, race, or ethnic group, as though empirical moral differences between peoples were grounded in differing human nature; while also recognizing that peoples and cultures may be genuinely shaped, elevated, or corrupted over time by religion, custom, law, and the presence or absence of the gospel.”

Yes @IVMiles. I worry all these zealous young men being drawn into conservative cultural transformation are going to end up making the same error that zealous young men (and women) did a generation ago who were drawn into progressive cultural transformationalism. Namely, that the point of Christianity is not redeeming the culture. That is a byproduct.

Reminder to clerics -- many anonymous (not all!) are extremely well credentialed and have some real expertise in areas that you opine on without knowledge.
I once saw a pastor argue with an anon about AI and I knew the anon had a Ph.D. in statistics and worked as a data scientst

It's baffling to me that we recently had a URC member literally try to assassinate the president, his cabinet, and members of the press and was motivated by Rachel Maddow-style progressive ideology and the clerical class still fights their right flank.

In Open Society Christianity, if you are asked why America is as great as it is and Haiti and Somalia are as horrible as they are, you will be excommunicated if you say that it is because Americans are different than Haitians or Somalis (especially if you point out the difference of average IQ in the former versus the latter two is nearly 2 standard deviations).

“Condemn without distinction” is an unfortunate phrase. It’s just a little disappointing it’s continually affirmed without any distinction. Not even a little footnote to cross out obvious absurdities from the artificiality of its generation. Exposing oneself to absurdities and ridicule does not serve the pastoral cause.

If the intent is to flatten all empirical differences, even the moral, between groups, for the liberal political order, then where does something like Julian Marias’s metaphysical anthropology fit in the affirmations and rejections? It’s not race realism. But it’s also not liberal anthropology.

Reminder that the ARP statement was drafted by AI, had numerous hallucinations on its citations.
The PCA study contradicted its own standards (WLC 108, 109) and enshrined political liberalism
Even this small statement is form of ecclesiastical overreach.

Europeans have and are becoming minorities in large parts of their own native homelands.
