Thankful to have @ZacharyGarris here with us this morning at @New_Christendom! He brought us a whole pile of Southern Presbyterian gold.

This is shameful.

It’s been five years, and NAPARC leaders still think they’re fighting the battles of their youth. CN is a return to classical Protestantism, not neo-Calvinism or theonomy. We just want politics to be politics—a God-ordained order to suppress evil and promote the good.

The very act of instructing the State on religious liberty will require the State to determine precisely what a religion is, and the extent of its liberties, non-trivial *theological* questions as recent events have showed. Inevitably the state will need to judge theology.

.@Brian_Sauve opened up the conference talks with a great message. “…you will not win your war for normal by simple accumulation of the right theoretical knowledge or the right mental model of an ideal political system, or the same for an ideal ecclesiastical structure. Don’t let knowledge accrual and theory accrual function in your life like world-building functions for a fantasy novelist. An elaborate mental model of the world as you think it ought to be won’t, by itself, do almost anything. Worse, it can actually keep you from doing anything, because you get so bogged down in an ultimate and hypothetical future ideal state that you become paralyzed in terms of taking the next three steps in front of you—because of course those steps aren’t good enough. After all, they’re all sorts of mixed up with sub-ideal circumstances and realities. All of this can become like a relief valve for action—where the mere act of thinking and writing and posting and debating is substituted for the meaningful and concrete action itself.” -Brian Sauvé

So thankful for the brothers @leviwhitley26 @the_ironbison @Titus_A_Lamb Kaid, Bryce, and all the other competitors this year. Iron really does sharpen Iron and I am thankful to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with those guys and the way they push me in all areas of life! @StonecuttrStr and NCP really knocked it out of the park.

The second annual New Christendom Games was a success. Feats of strength, Nail biting tie breakers, and the best commentary by the one and only @Brian_Sauve and @tompawnbadil. Great job to @StonecuttrStr for putting on a successful event! Congrats to @Joe__Forti on being the new champion

This year, instead of only having back-to-back talks, we wanted to provide more activities to get the whole family involved. Today, to kick off the conference, we hosted a family park day. Edwin’s Heirlooms (a great wooden toy company!) helped provide activities for all the kids. The children got to play capture the flag, have wooden sword battles, and race wooden ducks through an obstacle course. We hope this was a wonderful time of fellowship for everyone. We can’t wait for the New Christendom Games tonight!
