In case @SparksMaths is wondering who he offended at @MathsInspiratn earlier... Chethams School of Music weren't impressed by the music comment - however they did have a fantastic time and I think they'll forgive (but maybe not forget)
How to tell you've set the first bit of homework of the year? Several emails from students telling you they can't access the task on drfrost (or didn't take a photo of their login as instructed...)
Any John Catt book recommendations? Maths or general education is good. I've got some teachertapp vouchers to use and summer holidays approaching
(also hi, I know I barely tweet nowadays)
Every year I go down a teacher planner rabbit hole. All I want is a straightforward planner where I can have a page per day to plan and some record sheets (and a decent looking cover)? Any ideas if this exists?
Thanks @UKMathsTrust for your primary maths team challenge resources! Used them yesterday for a mini session for all of y6 and 7 and lots of happy faces doing maths
Update: didn't get leadership role I applied for but glad I did it and got a meeting later in the week to get feedback from the principal (lost out to someone with a lot more experience)
Being #10percentbraver and applying for a promotion BUT how do you write in the letter about attitude and disposition? Feel very weird writing about my 'can do' attitude or my ability to handle sensitive information? Help!?
PS it's internal so they do know me but???
Shout out to my laptop for spontaneously restarting in the middle of a y10 lesson. (luckily I could do a quick pivot to teach using my phone instead but seriously?)
Today a y12 student I don't teach came to find me after his lesson because he was so sure I'd know the 'quick' way to do binomial expansion after I taught him the grid method of dividing polynomials earlier in the week. Felt bad when he left disappointed
Was slightly worried at the start of @ChrisMcGrane84 session (I have strong feelings on PS) but loving the tasks he's sharing and definitely off to order his book now #MathsConf24
I'm running a lunchtime intervention session for y7 - any suggestions for numeracy games etc would be great (there's lots of maths anxiety in the group too so reducing that is a key thing)
On Friday I told the furthers we were going to be looking at vector eqns of planes and made a silly action of a plane landing with my hand, today one of them repeated it back at me. Glad we're all remembering the important stuff
