Give customers a GitHub Altium Fusion 360 to factory pipeline. No friction, or less friction than WeChat.

Not a horrendous idea.
Shipbuilding belongs in Erie. This is a chance to turn an old industrial site into a launchpad for American strength, Pennsylvania jobs, and the next generation of skilled trades.

With 88% certainty I can say the CCP deindustrialized with a false-information campaign in the rust belt in the 80s. “Only commies and hippies live in SoCal”. Meanwhile, SoCal was the only place where you can stumble into wildly qualified engineers, doing things as such:

Heck, people factory adjacent just simply move there to curate their next factory build.

Still bullish on the Rust Belt, but I will take the pacific beach over the shoreline of the Monongahela river any day (It’s also rarely rains).

Robotics Capitals must have dense supply chains. Without it, you’re just another dev center loosing ground to those who iterate at speed. #pittsburgh
Replying to @ycombinator
Hardware Supply Chain @dessaigne In Shenzhen, a team can go from design to a new physical part in a day. In the US, that same loop often takes weeks, and that gap compounds. The overall stack for rapid hardware iteration still doesn't exist in America, and we want to fund the startups building it.

14 years ago I was using “Renaissance” not “Reindustrialize”. It’s taken all of 14 years for it to start to blossom, but here we are. Finally cooking.

“Hey Pap - we are building the Navy” (I had to time travel back to ‘42 to let them know we will still dominate the seas).

And I have a pair of Moonwalkers after launching them with the boys 3 years ago. 2026 is the year of the rodeo.

🚨 Do you understand what happened in the last 24 hours? > Zuckerberg killed the Metaverse after burning $80 billion on cartoon avatars nobody used > Sam Altman took $13 billion from Microsoft then sold OpenAI's cloud to Amazon for $50 billion.. Microsoft just found out they funded their own competition > Anthropic made an AI that takes orders from your phone and does your work while you sleep.. > X dropped a dislike button AND a mute-entire-countries button in the same week.. > YouTube asking you to flag AI slop is just Google getting 2 billion people to train their next model for free > 93% of US jobs can now be partly done by AI.. Same week companies started giving the weakest raises since 2008 > Apple started rejecting vibe-coded apps from the App Store > xAI is paying Wall Street bankers $100/hour to teach Grok how to replace Wall Street bankers.. They're taking the money.. > A mystery AI model appeared on benchmarks beating everything.. Developers think DeepSeek is quietly testing their next weapon > Bloomberg asked "Is the AI bubble about to burst" the same day Nvidia said the chip market will hit $1 trillion.. One of them is dead wrong.. > The UK government backed down on AI copyright after artists revolted.. First government to flinch > The Fed said rate hikes are back on the table and blamed AI data centers for making inflation worse And it's only Wednesday. See you tomorrow. It'll be worse. If you're not following me you're finding out about this stuff 48 hours late from someone who read my post

Imagine- the lush fabric of American manufacturing being woven throughout the land once again. The subtle hum of machining, the light zap-zap of welds, and a flourish of beeps from CMMs across the land. Also - HEY DONNY, YOU KNOW YOUS GUYS CAN GET A COUPLE THEM MACHINES ‘STEAD ‘JUS ONE OF ‘EM NOW?! Another sublime piece from the GOAT.

Just watched this video live at the American Dynamism summit — so sick. God bless America.

Can confirm - Eric and the team are absolutely defying what standard manufacturing heads think is possible. Some of the most impressive thinking and technology development I have ever seen.
Announcing our $67M Series B. With this raise, we’re launching Skyfall, the world’s fastest laser melting platform, accelerating production and scaling what many have called impossible.

LA is way cooler than Bieber (yes, in that voice)
Neros was founded in 2023 with a mission to build the West’s drone industrial base. In 2025, Neros became the highest-output American drone manufacturer within a 15,000-square-foot facility in El Segundo. But faced with the reality of modern warfare as seen in Ukraine, we were still just a drop in the bucket. In 2026, we’re scaling our productive capacity by 100x. Today, Neros is proud to announce our expansion into Millennium One, a 250,000-square-foot flagship facility in Torrance, CA. This factory is the cornerstone of Project Millennium, our initiative to build a drone industrial base that is truly competitive with China. We will build world-class systems, at a scale in the millions, and at internationally competitive cost right here on domestic soil. Millennium One is a decisive step towards bridging the critical production gap to our adversaries. Beyond final assembly, we are also verticalizing components across the entire drone value chain, onshoring high-risk subsystems to ensure our domestic manufacturing capabilities are insulated from external supply shocks. Neros will provide the ultimate deterrent and the asymmetric advantage the West requires. We cannot afford to fail. Read our full vision for Project Millennium: neros.tech/articles/project-…

The best things in SoCal exist in small brick buildings with obscenely long wood beam spans filled with a handful of cracked engineers and founders. American dynamism at its best.

Any takers on relaunching MESTA?
There are too many startups focused on trying to replace the blast furnace. We’ve already largely replaced the BF in America (for better or worse). We need more innovation in rolling. This is where most of the $$$ in mills go. And we have no American OEMs. HUGE market gap.
