Pretty much sums it up
Let the spin begin. Both Iran and the US will claim victory while Israel sulks and waits for the whole thing to unravel (because nothing is really agreed). A massively disruptive and wholly inconclusive war in which Iran nevertheless emerges relatively better than its foes in the short-term. At the strategic level, a fiasco for the US and strategic failure for Israel. And more misery and despondency for the Iranian people.

Looks like this is the same back room agreement I had reported on last month: * Iran agreed not to call it “tolls” so Trump could call it “toll free” * Iran would have “navigation and maintenance service fees” for ships passing through the Strait * Would split with Oman
The Strait of Hormuz will be legally run in cooperation between Iran and Oman, according to Iranian state media

You’re right. He put himself in an untenable position.. gave Iran more power than they had pre-conflict. Problem is more air strikes will either have limited impact or have to hit energy infrastructure the creates lasting global disruption, nevermind the counter strikes around the gulf on other countries’ infrastructure. My money is still on an Iranian Hormuz toll (conservation fee), unfrozen assets, nuclear inspectors but no program elimination, and a twisted declaration of victory. 2 weeks or less…midterms looming

Deals get made when both parties have something the gain or lose (balanced leverage). Bad deals get made when one side has more to lose and the leverage gets out of balance. We blew our chance when we gave Iran the leverage with far less to lose and asymmetric tactical advantage. It’s not that complicated. Trump botched this thing from the start but I’ll give him credit for not compounding the mistake

Might not be a bad idea for all these guys to hop on their jets and formalize this “deal” before day break tomorrow. Seems like a lot of time for folks to stew and act out before then.

Among the ongoing MWC members (Air Force, Hawai'i, Nevada, New Mexico, San José State, UNLV, Wyoming additions like UTEP/Grand Canyon), **New Mexico** has the strongest all-around case. They lead retained schools with ~50 MW titles since 2013-14 (far ahead of UNLV), driven by elite cross country/track dominance plus consistent basketball and broad success across sports. UNLV is close behind with basketball/football strength. New Mexico edges it for overall departmental balance in the new league.

How hilarious and ironic will it be when Hunter becomes the change agent
WTF timeline are we on. Someone called me the MAGA whisperer and I’ll gladly take the title. Left, right, D or R we all want the same things. We’re being divided on purpose by the Epstein Elite Oligarch class because as long as we’re at each other’s throats, they get fat and rich off of our misery. The second we figure out we agree on more than we disagree, they’re done. Love your neighbor. Be yourself. Radical honesty. No fucks given, no fucks taken. Everything else is just noise. (But still fuck Jake “Brick Tamland” Tapper on any time line)

For seven consecutive seasons since 2019, the Los Angeles Dodgers re-signed outfielder Andrew Toles, who has Schizophrenia so he could keep access to the team’s health insurance and mental health services. He wasn’t expected to return to the field but the team support allowed him to continue to receive, medication, therapy and counselling.

**According to the 2025 Trustees Reports:** - **Social Security (OASDI)**: Current combined payroll tax rate is 12.4%. The 75-year actuarial deficit is 3.82% of taxable payroll. An immediate permanent increase to roughly **16.2%** (about 3.8 pp) would make it solvent over 75 years under intermediate assumptions. - **Medicare HI (Part A, the payroll-tax portion)**: Current rate is 2.9%. The 75-year deficit is 0.42% of taxable payroll, so it would need to rise to about **3.32%** ( 0.42 pp). These figures already build in projected rises in life expectancy, demographics, and health costs. Total combined FICA withholding would thus be around **19.5%** (vs. today's ~15.3%) to keep both programs self-sustaining on a dedicated-revenue basis. Actual legislation would likely combine tax hikes with other reforms.

Finally got to watch the last 50 laps of the Indy 500. Wow. Incredible race and epic finish! I know F1 is apples and oranges, but they better figure out how to get the drama and competitiveness back into the racing.

Ole Lindsey finally realizing the folly of starting a war we can’t practically or politically win. All we’ve done is make Iran stronger on the global stage. Completely avoidable if we’d just stuck to the America First doctrine Trump was elected to execute
If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution. This combination of Iran being perceived as having the ability to terrorize the Strait in perpetuity and the ability the inflict massive damage to Gulf oil infrastructure is a major shift of the balance of power in the region and over time will be a nightmare for Israel. Also, it makes one wonder why the war started to begin with if these perceptions are accurate. I personally am a skeptic of the idea that Iran cannot be denied the ability to terrorize the Strait and the region cannot protect itself against Iranian military capability. It is important we get this right.
