Inspiring service of remembrance at East Belfast Mission at which @REVBBA reminded us that today is about both remembrance and hope for and in the future.

We had our plaque of remembrance on display on which there are recorded the names of those who served in the UAD. Does anybody know what that is?

Asbestos in the Village update: We’ve been following up to get the site safe for the local community. Hoping to see progress this week - the landowner needs to secure access to the site to commence the removal work. We’ll keep the pressure on - public health must be protected

Absolutely disgusted to hear about this potentially racially-motivated attack. I hope Mutasim knows that the vast majority of people in East Belfast are proud to offer a place of safety, sanctuary and welcome to all.
A man has described the “terrifying” moment his east Belfast home was attacked in what police are treating as a “racially motivated hate crime”, as he admitted he no longer feels “safe in this house or this area”. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

Really useful @niexecutive this evening to reflect on the impact of #StormEowyn and the recovery plan for the days ahead. We are hugely grateful for the responsible approach of the public to travel warnings and advice and to those whose job placed them at risk to keep us safe. >

Disgusted that the Minister of Communities shouted at me twice to sit down as I was making a legitimate point of order regarding childcare funding. Aggressive, arrogant and have to say - doubt it would have happened if I was a man.

Delighted my colleague @fionamcateer spoke about this at Council. Often the work of youth workers who do street outreach is not heard about but is so vital.
Attending full council tonight. I put on record my thanks for the youth workers in East Belfast @WalkwayCommuni1 @ledleyhall Bloomfield community association,Short Strand and all community facing organisations for the work they did during the unrest in lower Newtownards road.

Stay hydrated in the sunshine with the water refill stations at City Hall and St George's Market💧 Join the ‘refillution’ by carrying a reusable water bottle. If one in 10 people refilled just once a week, we could save around 340 million plastic bottles a year🌞 @niwnews

It was a proud moment as Lord Mayor of Belfast to co-sign the Belfast Region City Deal 3 years ago. Extremely disappointed that this has been paused by the Government - questions about why they took this decision & the impact this will have to be answered.
