AI’s promise is bigger than any single model. The opportunity ahead is an open, competitive AI ecosystem where workers, startups, and businesses of every size can build with AI, strengthen their own expertise, and create value that compounds across the economy. That is the future worth building. Read more on how to make it happen: ⤵️

This is what practical AI progress looks like. For blind and visually impaired veterans, AI smart glasses can mean more independence, more confidence, and more ability to navigate daily life. AI is not just a policy debate. It is a tool that can help people live fuller lives. ⤵️

Reports that China-linked actors tried to shape U.S. attitudes on AI data centers should be a wake-up call. America’s adversaries know compute is power. The U.S. should respond by building more data centers, expanding energy supply, speeding up permitting, and leading the world in AI. ⤵️

The discussion draft is an important step in creating a framework for AI. The preemption provision in the draft is what we need to help get AI laws right.
AI is moving faster than Washington, and that has to change. I released a bipartisan discussion draft to create a federal AI strategy that will keep the most powerful AI models safe, protect American workers and make sure our innovators lead the world. I want to get this right, which is why I’m calling for folks to provide their input: GAAIA@mail.house.gov

Great to see this investment in America’s workforce and in pathways to high-quality skilled trades jobs. Building America’s AI infrastructure also means building careers: paid training, certifications, and real opportunities for welders, electricians, plumbers, and construction workers across the country. ⤵️
Powell McCormick: Yesterday, we did have an exciting announcement. @Meta launched something called America's Workforce Academy. It is an attempt to really deal with a significant issue that's happening today, where there are hundreds and thousands of open jobs, very high-paying, high-quality jobs. Welders, electricians, plumbers. This is a program that fast tracks individuals by giving paid training, actually a certification to become what's called job site ready on these construction sites, and a guaranteed job at a @Meta data center site. @Meta @DinaPowellMcC #ECNYPowellMcCormick #WorkforceDevelopment #SkilledTrades

This is a realistic and hopeful appreciation of AI. America will lead in AI, energy abundance will power it, industry will be re-shored, and diseases will be cured. It is all happening now. Let's not halt it.
AI is going to “change our lives massively,” says Secretary of @ENERGY @SecretaryWright at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum. “There’s going to be disruption, but the benefits are going to be massively larger than the downsides,” he tells @SullyCNBC.

The future is now because of AI. Let’s not slow down. Let’s accelerate with a national AI framework that promotes progress and doesn’t prioritize fear.
Let’s dispel the myth that AI lacks value beyond faster cat videos and vague stuff like “efficiency gains in the future.” AI is now - and it’s already doing awesome, life-saving things. 🧵

AI is transforming farms for the better. We can keep this going with a national framework or hold it back with a lack of imagination. "Gamer kids are coming out and running some of our autonomous units. We also have autonomous harvesters that literally have gaming chairs with joysticks, so they’re running them like a game. I mean, we’re attracting a new work force that we didn’t even know was possible." ⤵️

AI preemption is important to avoid a fragmented state by state approach, and it is good to see it included in the discussion draft. The provision is narrow and temporary. It targets state and local regulation of model development, not AI deployment, and it leaves generally applicable state laws intact.
Artificial intelligence is changing the way Americans live, work, learn, and compete. Congress needs to do its job in regulating this new technology with a clear national framework that protects Americans while ensuring the United States remains the global leader in AI. No AI jobs apocalypse. Confidence in American tech innovation and entrepreneurship is what our workforce needs. Onward!
The U.S. economy added more jobs than expected in May, posting strong payroll gains for the third month in a row, a sign the U.S. labor market is steadily recovering from a weak patch last fall and winter. 🔗 on.wsj.com/3ROXhNA

Important work being done by @HouseCommerce to make sure legitimate concerns about data centers are address in the context of facts and American AI leadership. ⤵️
🚨 BREAKING @HouseCommerce members are calling for an investigation into China’s efforts to stop the development of American AI and data centers. The 21st century must be led by America, and @HouseCommerce is ensuring that happens. Read the letter and more ⬇️ nypost.com/2026/06/04/us-new…

Fascinating finding: actively religious Americans may be among the most confident in AI. They are not standing outside this moment. Many are leaning in and helping shape how these tools serve human flourishing. thegospelcoalition.org/ai-ch…

Truth about data centers ⤵️
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but data center usage is a VERY small percentage of electricity costs today. The surge in costs can be attributed to transmission and green energy mandates... Your utility bill should provide a breakdown of costs each month. If it doesn't, demand transparency...
