The Tories have crowned Rishi Sunak without him saying a word about what he would do as PM. He has no mandate, no answers and no ideas. Nobody voted for this. The public deserve their say on Britain’s future through a General Election. It’s time for a fresh start with Labour.

Primrose Hill will be closed on New Year’s Eve this year ⛔There will be fencing, security and a police presence to prevent access. If you had planned to head there to get a view of the central London fireworks, please make alternative arrangements.

We are appalled by the effusive welcome Alaa Abd El-Fattah has received from the UK government. The Prime Minister recently reiterated his determination to root out antisemitism from our country but has now shared his delight that someone who has advocated for killing Zionists has arrived in the UK. We know from Heaton Park, Manchester and Bondi Beach that there are those who hear such words as a call to action. The government has celebrated Mr Abd El-Fattah's arrival as a victory, British Jews will see it as yet another reminder of the danger we face.
I’m delighted that Alaa Abd El-Fattah is back in the UK and has been reunited with his loved ones, who must be feeling profound relief. I want to pay tribute to Alaa’s family, and to all those that have worked and campaigned for this moment. Alaa's case has been a top priority for my government since we came to office. I’m grateful to President Sisi for his decision to grant the pardon.

“I heard you want your country back. Ha. Shut the f*** up” angrily yells Vylan, fresh from calling for “death to the IDF”, to a chanting crowd of white middle-class British liberals excitedly waving their foreign flags. All rather depressing, isn’t it? I note the intense border security at Glastonbury, which far outstrips that of Dover’s. Build bridges, not walls, they cry - apart from around their own filthy little sanctuary. How so very progressive of them, flying their Palestinian flags - they must all feel so very proud of themselves. Sipping their £8 iced lattes, posting on tiktok from the newest iphone. Really revolutionary stuff. A fatal blow struck against the capitalist system. Well done, everyone. All broadcast live on the BBC, our ‘national’ broadcaster. Fantastic work from them, as usual. None of this is Britain. Real Britain. Actual Britain. Decent Britain. Not the Britain built by generations of hardworking, patriotic British men and women. Who quite frankly, have had enough. I know I have. We will all be closely watching, as Lucy Connolly rots in jail, what action the police will take against this revolting man - the precedent has been set. So, yes Mr Vylan. You heard correctly, we do want our country back. But no. We will definitely not "shut the fuck up". Learn how to sing, take a shower and sod off.

Police Officers in Western Australia have had enough of exactly the same problems faced by Officers in the UK. Their union issued this, a hard-hitting warning to the Government...

I’m telling you guys: There is something deeply unwell in our society right now. You’re not going to see it if you’re a member of the select, far right-hand side of the bell curve. If you and your peer group are educated, financially successful, and healthy, our society probably feels better than ever. But, travel outside that bubble that most of us here—myself included—inhabit, and you’ll notice a pervasive sense that something just isn’t right. I don’t know what it is. It’s more than economic. It’s more than physical health, or anything material (though it certainly creates ripple effects across all those domains). It’s nothing less than metaphysical. For lack of a better term, it’s a vibe shift. It’s a sense of apathy that you feel emanating from far too many people—especially from the young, who should have all the hope in the world. It’s a lack of aspiration, of seeking a better life and better conditions for oneself. It’s dead eyes. Pop music and cinema that just feel lifeless. Teenagers not caring enough to get their drivers licenses anymore (or even to sneak a couple beers with friends). A world where too few of us feel like we have a purpose, and too many of us are finding nothing but despair on 6” phone screens. I don’t know what the causes are. I’m sure social media, economic malaise, Covid lockdowns, fentanyl, and every other reason we hear about factor into it. All of those reasons, though, in aggregate, still feel insufficient. They might be symptoms that compound the underlying disease, but they are not, in and of themselves, the root cause. I also don’t know what the solution is. I wish I did. I’m one small person just trying to spread positive vibes on social media and trying to raise my kids right. But I am 100% certain that something is wrong. And I hate seeing it, and I wish there were anything I could do about it.

Well I never thought the @guardian would be the one to sum up what’s happened to #Policing and why we have most of the problems we do, but there we go; you should never judge a newspaper by it’s constant hatred of Policing they may occasionally surprise you! 😂🤷🏼‍♂️🚨 #ThinBlueLine

Comic Relief raised £34m for those who need it. That’s £10.7m less than the front bench claimed in expenses in 2022 - £44,737,547. The front bench alone. On the bright side, that’s a lot less than the £235,000,000 claimed by all MPs. That's on top of salary. #ComicRelief

Are BBC staff told to be politically impartial as part of their employment? Yes. Has Gary Lineker been warned about impartiality before? Yes. Is Gary Lineker paid £1.4m of licence fee payer cash to adhere to those rules? Yes. Is this then a free speech issue? No.

I wouldn’t normally comment on such poor journalism but this is an absolutely disgraceful comment about a professional senior female police colleague - I did wonder what decade I was in !
Detective Superintendent Rebecca Smith at press conference yesterday - skin tight navy dress, stilettos, poker straightened hair - whatever happened to a cop uniform! Or is she auditioning for Love Island for midlifers. Show some respect for a missing mother!

Shell has just reported its highest profits in its 115 year history. They made £32.2 billion in profit in 2022. Your gas bill has doubled in a year. Shell’s wholesale costs are lower today than this time last year. A rip off.

Doing an experiment. Some 316 MPs claimed their utility bills on expenses last year, with some members claiming more than £3,000 to cover their utilities. Please retweet this if you think MPs should pay for their own gas and electric.
