Along with my contributions to The Guardian, BBC Radio 4 and even Wetherspoon News, I can now add Private Eye to the list.

Conversion rate optimisation fail ⁦@CostaCoffee⁩ - why on earth would you change the menu screen roughly EVERY 5 to 10 SECONDS before anyone has a chance to read it?

If this is true, the use of WhatsApp (particularly if on a personal mobile phone - and with someone known to exploit vulnerabilities) for the highest level of government business is a huge security risk. It also suggests official records are unlikely to be kept.
🚨 Boris Johnson in "regular" WhatsApp contact with Saudi dictator Mohammed Bin Salman, the Times reports today. What could possibly go wrong

Even the super basic public guidance from @NCSC says private orgs should ask “Are there really no corporately available solutions that will achieve the same goal?” adding “you shouldn't use any of the apps for SECRET or above”. ncsc.gov.uk/blog-post/using-…

Agreed. This is why I either use Google Scholar (academic search) or add a site: search operator in many queries. Or I search/ask Reddit.
The more you know about a sector, the less you trust Google. e.g. I have 30 or so recipe websites I trust, but they never rank in ~top 3 pgs. I trust 20 or so CROs, but they don't either. Same w/ men's clothing, video game reviews, travel tips. Does everyone experience that?
The Master of Arts degree at Oxford, Cambridge and Dublin has been doing heavy lifting for a few centuries… got mine for £50 and a few words of Latin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master…
those harvard business school online certifications be doing some heavy lifting on linkedin lmao
Dawn Butler or any MP should be able to call out another when they lie - especially in the Commons. A sad state that it is easier for an MP to tell porkies in Parliament than for another to call them out for it. Archaic rules hinder accountability.

Clearly I shouldn’t have given up on my Clickbank dreams in 2008. Looking at this, I just didn’t hustle hard enough. 🙃
Seriously, what is happening to marketing Twitter? And how do I go back to the before times?

I’ll admit, I’ve often discounted PR as an option. Partly as I’ve considered it harder and less guaranteed for B2B vs other tactics. I’d love for this guide to show me how and prove me wrong.

I'm thinking of putting together some sort of guide to Digital PR. Could you answer this tweet with: 1. Any questions you have about digital PR / how to get media coverage. 2. If you'd be interested in it. (And do retweet if your followers might be interested)
“Next slide please”.
The weekly Bill of Mortality was a single sheet of paper that listed on one side the mortality figures for each of the 130 parishes of London, and on the other the various causes of death. This one below is from February 21–28, 1664.
It's a shame to see so many old-school marketers complain on this thread. The marketing industry divide can be summed up in this meme.
More than half of digital marketers are self-taught. Less than a quarter have formal degrees. If your job post demands a "degree in marketing," I'd rethink that. How many amazing candidates are excluded with that (frankly irrelevant) requirement?

Being B2B, I should have probably stuck some other logos on there, but you get the gist.

My best productivity hack. Not only does everyone understand it, but it also orders files quite nicely when used at the start of the filename.

I'm currently researching how technical debt impacts marketing and wider business units. This post from @StepsizeHQ is well worth a read if you need a primer on why it matters blog.stepsize.com/how-tech-d…
