A couple pics from my last day of fishing at La Bahia de Espiritu Santo with my brother on the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico. Sunrise outside my room; a pelican that hung out with us for an hour; a thunderstorm that shut us down for 30 minutes; a really nice bonefish my bro caught.

In 2023, his total compensation as Riverside sheriff was $593,518, a huge leap over his predecessor’s salary. It was the highest for any sheriff in the state and much higher than the current governor’s salary.

I remember that slide, and have run past the memorial many times - I always think about those lost during that storm.
For 40 years, a little red toy box on Love Creek Rd has marked the spot where Trevor 7, and Kelly 5, were lost in the 1982 landslide that killed 22 people in SLV. It's in disrepair. And neighbors are rebuilding it.
