"Old power works like a currency. It is held by a few and is 􏰔jealously guarded. New power, on the other hand, operates like a current, it is open, participatory and peer driven, and the goal is not to hoard it but to channel it."􏰓 Senge PM

Every time a consultant colleague speaks to me like dirt, I wonder just how bloody awful they are to residents if that’s how they speak to senior colleagues. I certainly never thought I’d still be dealing with this shit as a CD & previous Assoc Med Director. #civilitysaveslives

I am so tired of nursing. It’s become so bureaucratic. Forms galore and the puritanical adherence to policies that are not in the best interests of patients. The endless glorification of mediocrity over those with the actual knowledge and experience. Never seen it this bad.

We appreciate you recognising the importance of Defib to the staff at Walthamstow Ambulance Station. His presence has been more than just comforting; he has provided vital emotional support to those who face the unimaginable every day. By allowing him to stay, you've given your dedicated team a reminder that their mental well-being matters, too ^ JJ

Please read this testimony from ICU Prof ⁦@Kevin_Fong⁩ at the @covidinquiryuk⁩ & know that this - this - is what it was truly like. All those despicable Covid deniers, anti-vaxxers & scamdemic artists have blood on their hands & should hang their sorry heads in shame.

FYI I’m in a room with some absolutely incredible people - @Turtle1doc, @drruthmitchell, @FreerMary, the team from @NoWEmergMed - plus many more. Reflecting on how powerful it is when compassionate people come together.

It has been important here at #RACS24 to talk about #Gaza as doctors and surgeons, including the targeting of hospitals and healthcare professionals. If you want to hear what @Turtle1doc was going to say at the @acemonline about working in Gaza, join this upcoming event in Sydney and online. eventbrite.com/e/every-storm…

Retention is essential & is easy. 1. Value your staff & treat them well. 2. Pay them properly 3. Ensure they can access training easily 4. Enable career progression/development. It’s not hard, but it does cost.
