One of the most disturbing things about the reality of banditry (read as terrorism) is how little we actually know about the true scale of human captivity across the country. There is no clear, centralized or reliable way of accounting for the number of people who have been abducted and are still being held. What this means is that the figures we hear publicly are likely only a fraction of what is really happening. A significant number of cases never make it into official records at all, either because they are not reported, deliberately kept quiet due to fear, or they simply get lost in the chaos of repeated attacks.

Borno children are still held captive. Please do not relent.

As of today, June 12, 2026, the 42 schoolchildren abducted from Mussa Primary and Junior Day Secondary School in Askira-Uba, Borno State, have been held in captivity for 28 days.

Terrorism, racism, tribalism, religious prosecution, xenophobia, wars lead by egos and money hungry politicians; how are any of these things supposed to be ok? Most people that get affected by these things aren’t even the exact perpetrators you say you are fighting.

A day will come where we no longer see one another as enemies. Until then God is in control. Africa is a beautiful continent. May we heal from generational trauma.

With this policy of reintegrating so-called repentant terrorists back into society, we will never win the war against terrorism.
