I am excited to announce my recently-submitted preprint focused on historical patterns of global natural history museum collections growth/activity based on zoological data from @GBIF. doi.org/10.1101/2023.09.29.5… 1/
Diminishing growth of zoological natural history collections threatens future research in the life sciences and beyond biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shor…#bioRxiv
Australia's freshwater turtle fauna is at risk. Habitat fragmentation, invasive predators, and more pose threats. Action is needed: EPBC Act listing, Indigenous Knowledge, and engagement. #Conservation#AustralEcology@ardynasios@EcolSocAus @WileyEcolEvol bit.ly/3LbI4Qt
Great time at PAG Australia in Perth. Highlight was hearing Rich Edwards present on the latest genome assembly of the dingo. Not embedded in the domestic dog lineage but a basal back there with China Girl and likely the New Guinea singing dog. Even the dingo seems interested!!
See our latest preprint on sex chromosome dosage compensation in a sex reversing skink!
Question: Should XX males be the same as XX females or XY males... Years ago we all put our predictions in, none of us got it right!

Did you know that my team @CSIRO built a time machine? Well... we did! An epigenetic time machine. New @biorxivpreprint describing century-old signatures of gene-regulation. I reckon the @epigenetichulk might be interested in this one? #MuseumGenomics. Link in thread:
My mad music-science project is complete, my dream has come true. Our performance of Origins – of the Universe, of Life, of Species, of Humanity on Tuesday received a standing ovation from the sell-out crowd at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Congratulations @DNATimeTravel for being awarded the Ross Crozier medal at @Genetics2023. Inspiring work on an ethical and respectful approach to have more diversity in human genetic research.
