People online hugely overestimate how knowledgeable normies are about candidates. Some polls in 2000 showed almost 1/4 of voters thought GWB was GHWB running for a second term. Tulsi doesn't have a high recognition factor with normies, she has ~0 chance.
Replying to @RichardHanania
Tulsi is an extreme version of a common phenomenon, where someone appeals to very online people but has no appeal at all to actual voters, and the very online people delude themselves.

This was Trump's main advantage, by the way, in 2016 R primary. He had ~100% recognition with normies.

With the exception of Florida and Texas (in the upper right) the relationship is quite strong. Domestic migration is just Americans moving away from immigrants.

The weird thing about the idea that it is now transphobic to question whether The Matrix was trans allegory is that it very obviously wasn't. One scene involved pills; fair enough. All the rest was about integration into society, labor exploitation, comfort vs. dignity, etc.
When the courageous, truth telling NeverTrump columnist confronts a force that can actually cancel him

After the success of the first movie, the Wachowskis could have done whatever they wanted to. The subsequent movies took the setting completely literally and had nothing that even hinted at trans allegory. This is just mythology from one (and only one) of the Wachowskis.

On the whole, the fact that ethnonarcissism (when practiced by almost anyone but Western whites) is not only accepted but actually very popular and even seen as somehow "progressive" is probably a very bad sign.

We are absolutely screwed. There's a "public health" school at my university and it is the biggest load of woke dogshit you ever saw. These people exist to call systemic racism "the real public health crisis" and agitate for bureaucratic controls on every element of our lives.
Do you think this will get better anytime soon? statnews.com/2021/03/17/driv…

There's now a fairly robust industry of talking heads in the academy who just deny that popular left-wing views exist. "No one thinks genes don't matter, no one thinks a welfare state could close test gaps," etc. Not sure if this is the result of an epistemic bubble or dishonesty

Inflation roaring, supply chain issues proliferating, Omicron w/big transmission and immunity advantages, energy supply becoming more volatile globally, military conflicts seem more rather than less likely compared to even two years ago. Seems unlikely we ever return to "normal."

Could be wrong but I keep talking to people who are anticipating a world in 2025 or 2030 that is just 1990-2015 but with better computers and I'm fairly skeptical at this point.

Somewhat serious question. This shtick is getting so ridiculous that I have to wonder if she's hurting her future credibility. Do you think she pays a price for this ~5 years from now if she's still doing the, "I'm a smart policy wonk" thing?
Giant grocery store chains force high food prices onto American families while rewarding executives & investors with lavish bonuses and stock buybacks. I'm demanding they answer for putting corporate profits over consumers and workers during the pandemic. nbcnews.com/business/consume…

Horrifying, but one thing I've recently been made aware of is that, apparently, old people are getting skin grafts pretty regularly for bad cuts, scrapes and even some large scars. Genuinely seems like medical consumption with high costs and questionable benefits.
Americans need to learn to give up their luxuries and live with less

I am once again asking if anyone even knows if life expectancy by race (including black!) is available in Canada. I've been searching for it fruitlessly for ~2 years now! Is the black population simply too small to generate a life expectancy figure?

This kind of (huge) government health report would absolutely include that in the US. But, they simply...don't report black life expectancy. They report black smoking, arthritis, asthma, smoking, diabetes, etc. But, life expectancy is just "Not Reported"! canada.ca/content/dam/phac-a…

Wow, this graph is completely unexpected. Biographical note-- I was accepted to NYU to study film, but decided against it because I'm not quite that retarded
