Colt, like most hitters, cups his wrist and overuses his shoulders in the swing—and it kills consistency. Here’s what you guys don’t get: even the way you grip the bat is affecting everything you do. Barrel path, bat speed, contact… all of it. Every detail matters. But most of you won’t fix it—not because you can’t, but because you don’t train enough. You don’t get your reps in. Here’s a clip from an online session I did with my guy Adrian out in California. Simple drill you can do right at home — because every rep should have a purpose. Find drills that actually translate and keep your swing consistent. This was my old man’s favorite drill helped him win two nattys, maybe it can help you!

One hand swings is probably one of the best drills to do! Even if not done to standard it improves players body control and makes it feel much easier when you have two hands on the bat! Great job kid!!!

To me little feel drills are so important, most of these kids are one good move away from being elite, but we need to understand hitting is a fine movement, and it’s small fine moves that are probably putting you in a bad spot to hit! My dude Joshua is gonna be a monster!

congratulations to the smartest hitting instructor of all time. using a video of the best hitters in the WORLD, that share SIMILAR MOVES, and began their playing careers before you were RELEVANT. you didnt “create” the idea of staying behind the baseball. EVERY good, professional hitter does it. NOT EVERY good, professional hitter stands on one leg and “snaps”. you have beautiful concepts that most people in the hitting world agree with. you lack the ability to converse and understand that people can get to positions you teach without being HLP/TM if you werent so insufferable people would be open to learning your good, helpful, and revolutionary concepts about weight.

Just browse through social media and you will find countless of these self proclaimed #gurus with all the tech devices in their facilities that measure everything from Launch Angle to Exit Velocity to Swing Speed to some fictitious Distance the ball is supposedly traveling. These measurements mean nothing! This is baseball it’s not golf! The ball is moving and that makes all the difference in the world! Find an instructor who has at least had some degree of success as a hitter. Sorry but Metrics doesn’t define a player. Lots of Cage Hitters out there with high exit velos but in games they really struggle. Rather have a .300 hitter and great OBP than someone with high exit velo hitting .150 when it counts. It’s about winning games!
