Chaired the Monthly State Crime Review at PHQ today. Guided by Hon’ble CM Dr. @himantabiswa Sir, @assampolice continues its journey towards better policing with consistent improvement in key policing parameters. 🔹 Chargesheet % has touched 79.58% in July 2025 - up from 47.80% in 2020. 🔹 Conviction Rate is at 26.72% in 2025 - up from 5.5% in 2020. 🔹 Pending cases under investigation have come down to 12,338 in July 2025 - down from 1,54,280 in 2020. 🔹Chargsheet % in BNS cases has crossed 93 % in July 2025 - up from 88.42% in May 2025. @HardiSpeaks

Kickstarted the BMI campaign at CRPF today. The BMI for the entire force would be recorded in next three months. We intend having a fitter and healthier force over the next few years through sustained efforts.

Guided by Hon’ble CM Dr @himantabiswa’s vision for a safer Assam, we welcomed Smt @VijayaRahatkar, Chairperson @NCWIndia, to @assampolice Hqrs, for a review of our women and girl child protection efforts. We underlined how proactive policing has cut down crime against women manifold, reduced child marriages, taken up charge sheets & conviction rates and sharpened citizen services. The Chairperson appreciated our progress and inaugurated a training on #YashodaAI to propel the AI Sakshar Nari cyber-safety mission. With NCW’s guidance & collaboration - trainings, programs & initiatives for women’s safety will gain further momentum.

Hon’ble President, CWA graced the inauguration of Mega Blood Donation Drive 5.0, organised by @aiims_newdelhi on 4th August 2025, as the Special Guest. She encouraged all to embrace blood donation as a social responsibility and festival of humanity. Jawans from CAPFs and other forces participated enthusiastically. Later, she visited “Aashray”, a CRPF-supported facility within AIIMS, along with CWA Governing Body members. There, she interacted with patients, CRPF officials, and AIIMS authorities to review existing facilities and discuss development needs. As we winded up a very productive #SPConference in LBPA Dergaon, we reflected upon the recent successes of Assam Police and focused on inter-district learnings. I reiterated that we will adopt a Zero Tolerance Policy on Illegal Immigration, Wildlife Poaching, Crimes against Women and Drugs. Over the last 2 days, we also discussed how the newly created Dept of Prosecution will give more teeth to the force and further improve conviction rates alongside discussions on the State's prison reforms. I also urged officials to keep people at the heart of policing with special focus on senior citizens and women. The Govt is fully supporting the modernisation efforts of the force with more institutions, more personnel & more facilities to improve the quality of policing and quality of life of our personnel. As newer forms of threats emerge, we should be prepared to deal with it accordingly to ensure that the environment of safety and security prevails in Assam. #WATCH | Guwahati | Assam police arrested 7 people who were helping people from Pakistan to use WhatsApp from Indian numbers by sharing OTPs. Assam DGP Harmeet Singh says, "We got the first input from Gajraj Military Intelligence that they had stumbled on a number of people who were sending OTPs to people in Pakistan to be used to set up accounts with Indian WhatsApp numbers... Technical analysis was done for the past many days, and on the 14th, the case was registered in the STF, and #OperationGhostSIM was launched. As part of that operation, teams were sent across to Hyderabad, Rajasthan... and since the 16th afternoon, seven people have been arrested, some in Bharatpur and Alwar... one on Guwahati airport... These SIM cards were used not only for cyber but also for anti-national activities. And in this case, there seems to be clear evidence that some of these numbers have been shared across and are being used by anti-national elements and inimical elements across to use WhatsApp accounts that look as if they are India-based..."
